If you want to encourage fairies to visit you, try putting a fairy house in a place of honor in your home. A fairy house not only shows fairies that you believe in them, it also shows that you are making an effort to extend your hospitality and provide them with a fairy friendly environment. Fairies are very appreciative of special places you set aside especially for them and will be much more inclined to communicate with you.
A fairy house and the area around it is considered sacred space and can serve as a gateway to faerie. This special house can be both a place to leave gifts for fairies, and a place to conduct your fairy magic. Here, you can fly the fairy flag, display little fairy shoes, and leave little things you think they might enjoy such as a thimble of honey, fairy cakes or even a little ale! One important thing–never have iron anywhere near the fairy house as iron is poisonous to fairies.
Your fairy house design can be as fancy or as simple as you wish. It should be constructed of mostly natural materials that you have found in nature or have on hand if you are a crafter. The house in the picture above was constructed of scrap wooden boards with twigs and copper added as decorative elements. The copper was used because it is a favorite fairy metal and very attractive to them.
The little pixie house below was made from a card stock base with moss, bay leaves, and a few twigs added for decoration. It may look difficult to make but all it took was a two to three hours, the above items and a glue gun and it was done! For those crafters out there, I will be showing you how to do this simple house in an upcoming post.
Once you have your fairy house in place, make sure you occasionally greet them and send them some positive thoughts. It won’t be long before you realize you have some new residents in your home!

I make fairy houses out of rocks I find in the reserve behind my house.
I made some fairy rings a few years ago out of rocks, only one remains. This particular one has a rock w/ a footprint of someone’s shoe. The other day, I found a ring of some sort of clover around the footprint rock, inside of my manmade ring. There’s also a small patch of dark green grass in the reserve. This is strange b/c the rest of the grass is a light green color. Could this be a natural fairy dwelling?

hey, umm,natalie? do you know what kind of metal is on a lava lamp? dies this really work? i mean,i am an absolute believer,but i am afraid if i attract a fairy my parents won’t be too happy, i have a lot of copper that could help though. umm, and hey, last night i was thinking about an expierence i had when i was younger. i had gone to sleep and i woke up in the middle of the night, my covers were completely laying flat on the floor and i was laying on top of them. i had never really thought about it much, i thought it was completely normal, then last night my brother said that fairies were messing with me. that really got me thinking, and i have a TON of pennies in my house that me and my brother collect, do you think it really could have been fairies?
i’ve always dreamt of seeing an actual fairy, i talked to my music teacher yesterday and she says that she is an absolute firm believer of magic, and, sorry to double post but i just remembered another thing that happened just yesterday. me and my teacher were on the subject of fairies and out of the blue i said that i don’t believe in crop circles. well we got done talking about that and i started playing the flute (do you think playing some music would help attract the fae?) and all of a sudden my teacher’s phone goes off. guess what her ringtone is. it was one of those music themes from those old-fashioned alien attack movies (my eyes were popping out and i had the chills) it seems i am always accidentally making predictions. why do you think?

ugh now i am triple posting, sorry, but this is my first time actually posting on a website so i am pretty new at it. anyway, we have a lot of bushes in our backyard and i was thinking of putting a fairy house back there, but we have an oleander plant, would that be okay? and would ginger ale work as ale? so many questions because i have never really met many believers of fairies and magic.
Wow! I’m not even done making my little faery house (I have to let the moss dry and gather some more materials) and it’s sitting on my shelf. I already sense them (more than one…), and I keep seeing little flickers in the corners of my eyes.. Should I speak to them? What should I say?

i turned around to leave and then the cicadas (large bugs)started buzzing very loudly,and i took that as a sign.i would go along the lines of something like that if you want to communicate but again i am no expert but i got some of this from this website.

hey guys me again i was wondering,i made my fairy house out of a shoe box and i out a doorway and what i call a “sun roof” when i detached the lid and it was ripped at the edge so there is a little space it is in my room and in the box i have things like pine needles and flower petals do you think they will check it out and like it?

Your fairy house sounds like it will work just great and it is a good idea to have the fairy star there too.
Now, your question about fairies eating only the “essence” of the food…
Everything has an energy to it (even rocks) and “essence” refers to the energy of the food.

would it be okay to get a cereal box and cut out a door and windows then put glue all over it and stick kitchen roll all over it and when it drys paint it a greeny brown collor and then when the paint dries stick twigs and sticks and nautral stuff all over it.

after i do that when the house is done should i get sea shells and clean them out and put honey in them so it could be like bowls of honey and i will put them in the house for them to eat

I wouldn’t have thought of using a cereal box but it certainly could work. Everything you have planned sounds really great. Let us know how it turns out! I don’t know if they would actually take the clothes you make for them but it would probably make them feel very welcome.

I live in wyoming and i wanted to know if fairies live there or not? Also how big are faires? We also get very very cold winters here so should I put the fairy house inside or does it matter? me and my lil sis went to the woods the other day and we found this HUGE tree and it had little holes in it (looked big enough for a pixie) and i told my lil sis it was a fairy house. We couldnt see right in it cause it was to dark but you probaly could of stuck your finger in ithe holes. What do you think??????????????

YEY! ive finaly made the perfect pixie house for pixies. Ive left them a small bowl of suger and a some gifts of crystals and sea shells and copper. And the house is made of leaves, sticks, gitter, fake flowers and paint. I put a protection sign above the door of the house to keep bad pixies away. Now all i do is wait…………..still waiting………………………….suger still there…………………………………………………..hmmmmmmmmmmmm…..

you can buy fairy cakes at the shop, they are little muffins with icing on top. You know when you go to a friends party, and there are little fairy cakes on the table that you can eat. You can even make them yourself
very simple. If you dont want to bake or your fiends party dosent have any, just buy them and if you are a little girl ask your mum to buy them. She will know what they are

Fairy cakes are basically cupcakes. My daughter Brandi and I just made some recently that were mini-sized – it was great fun… and the fae loved it too.

Cardboard works really great! I recently made one out of a paper mache box that I found at a craft store and it worked really well.
Glass isn’t really necessary, leaving it open would work just fine.

I remember the day before my bithday, i found a book in y closet about fairies that i never read in a very long long time….. I dicided to review and finish reading it! After that, I was sooooo courious if fairies were real! The next day on my birthday, in the morning, I took my dog out to the back yard. When i went to the side of tthe house…. i saw something shimmery in the coner of my eye! I looked at it more closely, it looked like a small person with wings! After about 6 seconds it flew over my fence and was gone!!!! I think it was a fairy! Plus that fact that the fairy showed up on my birthday!

Taylor, that is beautiful! I learned never to question anything you see from the corner of your eye. It is never your imagination. When I saw the faery I saw face to face over a year ago, I at first saw her from the corner of my eye, and then I moved my eyes to look towards her and I saw her face to face. We looked at each other for about a minute and 1/2.
Also, the faery’s energy does surround them and this energy is light. Especially at night you can see their light-which can be pink, blue, purple, or whatever color zooming around plants or trees, etc.
In many cases, I’m finding from reading other people’s encounters, that the faeries usually appear for a few seconds and then dissapear or fly away. They are very high vibration and it takes alot of energy for them to make themselves visible to our eyes. The human eye cannot see everything that there is on this planet.
Many animals–especially birds– can see more than we humans can

i’m wondering do/will the fairies mind if i use card board in stead of wood because i can’t really wood and i didn’t use leaves because they would fall of and start to smell so in stead i used card board and painted it brown and some flowers to seem more naturey, is that ok?
And what other foods do fairies like that i can give them and do they like bright colors ?

im not Natalie but,yes that would be fine,fairies love sweets like milk,honey,honey cakes and the love most sweet stuff with lemony taste and yes they do like colorful colors and also shiny stuff but dont give any metal containing steel or iron …and if you want them there tell them its there just for them…also if you see an animal in it dont scare it off cuz it might be a shy fairie and you need to show them you have respect for nature…
