During a visit three or four years ago, my young nephew gave my daughter a large black plastic beetle which was very realistic looking. Why he gave it to her, I’m not sure–he probably thought it was cool and she’d appreciate it, which she definitely did. After he left, she put it on a moulding above a stairway in our house, thinking it was funny that people might see it, think it was real, and be a bit creeped out by it.
Months went by, a year or so, I think. One day, with company coming, I decided the joke was over and it was time to remove the beetle. As I removed the beetle from the moulding, I was astonished to discover that the plastic beetle was gone and a real but dead beetle the exact same size and shape had been put in its place. After I got over the surprise, I checked to see who had been responsible for the swap. No one came forward to enjoy their clever joke. In fact, everyone in the house was rather shocked and fairly squeamish about handling the real beetle. A plastic beetle is one thing but a real beetle of that size is another story.
I was at a loss to explain what had happened until it hit me–FAIRIES! This is exactly the kind of thing they would do! Here, we had the plastic beetle up there as a joke but they thought it would be much more amusing to turn the tables and have the joke be on us! I imagine they got a good laugh out of it and I have to admit it was pretty funny and very clever, just like them.
This is the real beetle I found, almost 1 1/2 inches long.

That Beetle was freaky. I think the fairies have a prob with black Beetles and i think that the fairie might have been allergic to plastic or sumthin XD

Some fairies love to pull pranks, and this definitely could have been an instance of a fairy turning the joke around on the jokester.
Alternatively, most fairies prefer natural over unnatural, so transforming the plastic beetle into a real beetle could have been a the fairy’s attempt at offering a gift to you (she assumed that people, like herself, would prefer organic over inorganic).
Either way, there’s definitely a fairy behind the switch!

I had read that fairies arent too comfortable with the chemicals used in plastic, so who knows.. maybe that was part of the reason they did that also.
In any case, they didnt mean any harm. They like to see humans learn to laugh at themselves and to them, a beetle is not disgusting as it is with us humans.

No, I don’t think you can ever really tell that they have “eaten” so I would give them a day or two to get to it.
Doll clothes might work–I guess it would depend on the size of the clothes, what they are made of, and how well the fairies like them.

thanks and they are just barbie doll clothes from when i used to play with them and when youu said that they are attracted to bright colors, my room is very bright with lots of pinks and reds so would that help attract them?

its really stange, everwhere i go, no matter who i’m with i keep on seeing a little white illuminated winged figure floating or diving past my window or past me.
but everytime i go to look i cant see anything, i understand that it could be a butterfly or somthing, but it looks more like too long, as if it has legs and arms.
i love to believe in faries, but at the moment, as im growing older in this horrible world, im starting to loose my belief in enchantment, love and magic, could this be a sign to beign me back to the world i love, a world where magic still exists, but hides itself from us?

It seems right to question something that seems strange or weird… everyone needs to do that. I have a few questions–how long has this been going on? Do you see it out of the corner of your eye or have you been able to look right at it? Does this happen several times a day or has it just happened a few times? The next question is, putting aside all the reasons why it can’t be true, what does your gut actually tell you that this is? If it helps you any, this sounds very much like it could be a pixie trying to get your attention and remind you that they exist, like you mentioned.

Some people can see fairies, others can only hear them, and yet others can do both – it just depends on the person. So, in other words, I don’t know which one of the above you are (or will be). My best advice would be for you to learn how to attract fairies, and then if you see signs that they are nearby (things missing, seeing lights out of the corner of your eye, hearing laughter, words spoken etc.) then work on communicating with them and then maybe you will begin to see them more clearly.

Well, not really anymore. There used to be a time when faeries were also in our world and that was a more common thing then. Now a days, our two worlds are mostly separated and that makes “getting together” almost impossible. They can still communicate with us but the larger types in particular can’t really come into our world at the moment. If your friend is telling you that she has a faery boyfriend, I would say she has a really good imagination

That is a very interesting story. I myself have never had an experience with fairies, but I do know people who have. I have also seen some interesting pictures and images of them.

Hi Dante, Pixies are said to love shiny things. Was it plastic or metal? They would probably prefer something natural and shiny over something synthetic, but they still appreciated your gift. It could be possible that they are enjoying playing with what you gave them without necessarily taking it away with them.
Just the fact that they appeared to you in a dream and gave you a stone shows me that they appreciate your thoughtfulness towards them.
