Today I made a faery garden. It's in a small cardboard box, and so far only has pansies, 'pinks', chinese forget-me-not seeds, and mint seeds… I want to have one in the yard but the sod is really tough.
1. Will the faeries mind if it's in a box?
2. Is there anything that can cut through sod/grass roots somewhat easily so I can transplant to outside?
Thanks c;

Congratulations! I bet the faeries will love your garden whether it is in a box or not. :)
Lisa's the real gardener around here I think, but if you don't have much to transplant, probably a hand trowel would be ok. You might want to keep the mint in a box or a pot, though, instead of putting it into the ground. Mint is a really aggressive plant, and it tends to take over everything around it over time. This happened to some friends of mine. ^^
Good luck!

Oh, yeah, I recall that from my own garden. I had some chives, some sage, some mint, and some strawberries. Pretty soon all I had were strawberries, mint, and one or two chive plants/ sage plants x3 Maybe I'll keep it in a seperate part raised above the ground or something.
Thanks!

Sounds beautiful, Summer-Chan! How is it going? I lost some seedlings because I put them out too early, but I am trying again :-)
I found this awesome website where you can get ideas for your faery garden- or even order thier inexpensive faery garden furniture, arbors, fences, etc , etc, etc for the faery /pixies to enjoy.

This is such a cute site Lisa! The things they have there are so adorable and the prices are very reasonable too, I think.

Arent they !!
They keep changing their stock and adding new things– Last year I bought some little wood highback chairs there ($2.95 each) and one of them was mysteriously moved inside the faery cottage in the fairy garden. I had it on top of the cottage roof, and one morning I went to the garden to find it was placed along the swinging door. Then the next day it was moved INSIDE the cottage !
Eventually the chair was completely gone- as though the faery spirited it away into thier dimension. I still have the matching chair. I ordered the Twig bench and the little green wood bench, the white table for inside my home where I keep the faery cottages, and a nice cream colored Arbor for the faery garden ;-)
Their miniature flowers and mushrooms are very welll made and detailed. I reccomend the $1.95 planter :-)
