I've been sitting here reading, ok skimming mostly, the posts in this forum.  It makes me smile knowing that I have found a forum with others that feel as I do.

I am not going to ask if it is possible that I am a fairy. I don't have to do so. I KNOW that I am.  And I have known for years. So, maybe my story of how I came to be so positive about this will help some of those that are still unsure.  It will also be nice to talk about this and not feel like I will be thought of as a freak.

Many years ago, in the late 90's I was introduced to the concept of "Otherkin" by an ex boyfriend.  What is that you ask? To give a simple answer, those that believe they are Otherkin, feel that while their body may be human, their soul is of another being. Not just "humanoid" beings, but animal spirits and fantastical beings as well.  If you research it you will find that some believe there is more too it then that. But when I was introduce to the concept, that was how it was explained to me.

It's honestly not something you can HAVE someone tell you that you are one, its something that you have to know yourself.  Looking deep inward to how you truly feel.  Which is what I did.

At that time, I only felt half of what I my soul is. The feline side. That part pretty much knew I had all my life.  As I had been trying to do things in catlike ways since Elementary school. But I knew I had it and to those that I was "out" to they didn't question it.  Pretty much once you feel positive you have something. It starts to show outwardly to others. Many that aren't even aware of the concept.

 It tied into my love of Anthropomorphic artwork as well. That is people that draw animals in a human shape. It's more commonly known as "furry" artwork, but thanks to  certain TV shows only showing one small rather ICK side of that fandom, I tend to stay away from that term.  But it's what fits the way I picture my soul's body to look like for years even before knowing the term Otherkin. Me, with feline characteristics.

Years later, after a lot of upheavals in my life, I found the other half of my soul. The fairy half.  I like to call that "finding my wings".

It happened when I saw a drawing of a cat with fairy wings. And WOW did that just CLICK in my brain. That's me, that's what I am. I am a Fairy cat.

Which is to say, a fairy, that is also a cat. This manifests itself in several ways. In the items I collect, its full felines with fairy wings. In my artwork and on the "game" Secondlife an Anthro Feline with fairy wings. At Ren faires when performing as a fairy, I have a pink tail as part of my costume.

There is no doubt in my heart that I am what I am. Nothing anyone can tell me will make me believe otherwise.  And 90% of others that meet me in person will tell you the same about me.

In my personality it manifests in a somewhat childlike innocent outlook at the world.  I love shiny things, and don't get me started on my passion for glitter. Flowers, Mushrooms, natural things, all are adored by me.

Anyway, the point of all this babbling about myself is this… No one can tell you if your fairy or not other then YOURSELF. Look inwards into your heart of heart. That is what will tell you if you are or not.  

How I show my faeness may not be how you show it.  It will be different for everyone, as everyone, and every fae, is different.

Well, I think it could be useful to know if you are a fae in a human body.  For one thing, it could help you understand why you feel apart from other humans and feel different.  Sometimes knowing that they have a fae soul can be a big relief for people and it puts things into focus for them and helps thing to make sense. I wouldn't undervalue it.

Another big thing to consider is that fae are incarnating into human bodies for a reason and that is to help push humanity in the right direction and to help save the environment and the earth that we both share.  That is Mr E's purpose for communicating with us in the first place.

  I think it can be healing if you know what you where in a past life. I'm glad someone is looking inside themselves to find who they are. I think that is the best way to find out about yourself, so many people tend to ask other people to tell them who they are, when, really, who knows you better than you?

 I find that many people seem to think that being fae in past life makes them not human now, like, "Oh I'm mad at people right now…" "Well you aren't mad at me then, because I'm a *fill in the blank*"

  Also people seem to want to be a reincarnated fae, instead of accepting who they are, or get bummed out because they are a "plain old human"

  What I think is, live in the now.

I this is so then i must be a rencarnated fairy becasue i no that inside i am not huamn and for years i have felt this and my one main goal that i feel like i was born with was to save the earth thats it. I have to save the aniamls and the earth. I want to work for WWF i have said that i dont care about having a family in my future i care about making a difference in this world.

That could be….only you can really say for sure and often you have to dig really deep down to your core to discover who you are and your purpose here. This type of exploration can last a long time–a lifetime really.  I would say, follow your heart and see what you discover.  

But, even if you are fae, Mr E always encourages living as balanced a life as possible which would include having other people–a family of sorts–being a part of it, right?

I guess but i dont want that as my main priority , to obtain a family is what i mean. I have to focus on making the earth a better place and thats all I want to do.

Sounds good–the earth really needs people like you!

So, do you just have..random dreams about your past life? Or do you actually have to try and look for it, and push past recent memories?

I so enjoy this particular website.  Other Otherkin (ha ha) I have dealt with have been rather cruel.  Many Otherkin stand that there are certain rules.  "You can't be that because…" Hmm…okay.  Some don't believe that fae are living and acting on the earth now…hmm…okay…how can you believe you are something that you don't believe in?  A little odd.

Being Otherkin is personal mythlogy if you will.  It may be true, or it could be a way to explain what cannot be explained.  It certainly is poetic.

I must admit that sadly, up until recently, I thought Otherkin was nonsense.  Hmm…judge not lest ye be judged…

It was when a well respected friend of mine gave me a little nudge down the path that I began to see some interesting patterns.  Children have always thought I was a fairy (I'm actually an elf, but close enough to a human child).  Once at a Renaissance Faire I was sitting having lunch on the lawn when I heard a mother say "Oh go sit by the fairy so I can take your picture!"  The little toddler walked right past the actor in fanstanical makeup and wings and sat down by me!

Random people make many similar comments on my elfness, so it's a bit hard to ignore now.  It feels better to embrace it than to keep ignoring it. 

I've been researching elves now…you know Softpaw…It just so happens that the Shiri Elves had fairy cat companions called Demii…maybe that's what you are!  Other Shiri have spoken of them.  Here's the site:

Oh I would love it if that's what you are!  I'm a Shiri!  Maybe we knew each other in a alternate life.
