I have always been curious about what it is like to live in the Fae world. I have some questions:
1. Is the fae world like our world on Earth?
Not exactly, but not not exactly either. From how I understand it, it's not a perfect over lay. It's not like putting a piece of tracing paper over the Earth and tracing the Earth on it. Though, the Otherworld is everywhere, it's also nowhere at the same time. You can't just walk through a door and get to the Otherworld, you have to find specific doorways in order to get there, most people find them accidentally, and fall through. You generally also can't ever fall through the same door accidentally twice. It's mostly fantastical, some do have houses that intertwine with trees, others live in castles, some in huts and some live in mountains made of mud. Sometimes faeries will modernize, but they generally don't like to. They definitely don't like our modern mudane weaponry, because it takes away from the honor of fighting.
2.Do they have houses like ours? if so do they look like ours?
They have houses, but they don't look like ours, fae don't live in houses like ours unless they're taking on a human form, and then they have to conform to our ways. As I said before, they live in castles, trees, oceans, mounds of mud and other strange places, wherever they want to really.
3.do they have cars or trucks and roads?
I've never seen faeries have cars, but they have other mounts besides horses and buggies. Some ride the backs of dogs, cats, whales and fish, some use other animals. Sometimes it's with the animal's permission, sometimes it isn't. It depends on the intelligence of the animal.
4. Do they have wars in their world or it it a perfect world?
Fae will fight anything. Seelie, Unseelie, Summer, Winter, Each other, the Gentry are the worst about it though, especially if it comes to an all out throne war, and there are throne wars all the time. The moment someone dies, suddenly there's need for a war. Fae live by "might makes right", which translates to "I'm the strongest, so I'm right and you're not". The Tuatha de Danann have been fighting the Formorians in Ireland for thousands of years. The Fir Bolgs hate the Tuatha de Danann for taking over their land, and the Formorians for being evil. The Formorians hate everyone. No world is perfect, not even the Otherworld.
5. Do they have technoligy like us?
They sometimes enjoy using techology that is similar to ours, with some minor adjustments, but for the most part, many don't use human tech, or anything close to it. Sometimes the Winter and Unseelie Courts will, but only because we're using it and it looks interesting.
6. Are they curious about us too? do they find research about us? are they interested in us?
Most definitely. A lot of faeries spend a great deal of time "human watching". If the Unseelie Court cares enough about us, they'll watch us or pay attention for a while, but for the most part, many of the ones watching us are the Seelie and Summer Courts, because they want to know what we're doing with/to ourselves and to them. Sometimes Faeries will take a liking to us and want to take us home with them, much like pets. The scary part about this is that they actually have the power to do it, or at least, some do. Some don't want anything to do with us, they just want us to leave them alone, so they'll watch us to find better ways to get us to leave them alone.
7. If they can come in to our world like orbs, then in their world do they see us like orbs or spirits?
I can't answer that one. I think that they see us as they we are, but I think that some of them see us as very spirit-like where the veils are thin enough. Valor sees me as I am, or as I want to be. Some fae see other fae that are trapped in human bodies as they should be if they weren't, which makes them easier to find.
8. Can our worlds meet, to become one worlds so we can be friends
I think that it could be possible, with a lot of help. There would have to be willing parties on both sides. I also think that it would take a great lot of negotiating. Humans are selfish and enjoy keeping things that they have that they think are their own. If the veil were to drop suddenly and there were fae everywhere, I think it would be like an episode of Independance Day. Humans would think that fae were planning a hostile take over and would probably hurt and or murder many of them, or it would be like something out of the Mercy Thompson series, and fae would be put on reservations and treated with as much curtesy as an outcast of society.
9. why do they want to be secretive why can't they show there selves, why don't people believe in them any more?
See the previous question. Also, some fae don't want to be around humans. Some faeries don't even like them, and because of that don't want humans bothering them or in their stuff, so they don't choose to show themselves. People don't believe in faeries anymore because of several reasons. 1). When Christianity came through, the people spreading it didn't want anyone questioning their God, so many of the old pagans were burned as witches or went into hiding. 2). Science destroyed the need for the Supernatural in the Renaissance, leading the world into a time where humans could believe that everything had a reasoning behind it, one that wasn't attributed to any diety or spirit. 3). Walt Disney changed the general consensus to believe that not only did faeries NOT exist, but if they did, they existed in the form of a small, pixies that were not only harmless, but human friendly and lovers of children.
10. can fae die?
Yep, by swords, cold iron, brokenhearts and just about anything else you can think of. But, it's okay, most of them reincarnate and have new avatars already created.
Please try to answer them all!
Btw: This is fae from my Irish Faeries' point of view.
