Hi everyone, I was just wondering if you could tell me a bit about gnomes? I dont know very much, and I really would like to know more. When do they appear? Whats their favorite time of day? Is there purpose really to take care of gardens and nature? Thanks so much!

For centuries, gnomes have been living side by side with humans, protecting and tending to their gardens. Gnomes ask for little in return for the luck and support they provide. They may occasionally sneak into the kitchen to nibble on a crumb of bread or morsel of cheese, but for the most part they are quiet and docile.

After centuries of peace and quiet, however, the Gnoman race is craving adventure and excitement. Gnomes long to travel, meet new people and experience the world firsthand. They are jovial and fun-loving, and tend to sing, dance and hit on fairies after a few beers

TaraR,   Your description really seems to fit welll regarding the Gnomes!

I read somewhere that gnomes have two Groups-   The ones that wear the red caps are said to help out wildlife and animals– including many domestic animals as well where needed.   And the ones that wear the green caps or hats concentrate more on the Plants and trees.

Here is a person's testimony of seeing a gnome–    both the gnome and the human were caught off guard!:

"Someone at http://www.mysticfamiliar.com/……..pic.php relayed their encounter with a gnome.. and I want to copy it here to encourage folks that these Beings are real, and it's such a shame we humans dont meet them half way to work with them. This particular gnome was probably finishing up doing land energy healing in some wetland area.

"Many years ago I was hanging laundry outside. This area was behind the house and at that time, had knee high dry brown grass standing. As I was hanging up the laundry, I heard and saw the dry grass move. I naturally assumed that a cat or small dog was walking towards me. I stopped and just watched the brown dry grass move and crunch from something walking in it that I couldn't see yet. I was getting very curious and waited to see what cat was there.
Well was I surprised when all of the sudden this small man, an Earth Elemental or "Little People" stepped out of the tall grass into a small open area only 5 feet right in front of me! He saw my feet and his head flew up to look me in the eye. We both just stood there with our mouths open staring at each other!!!
He looked almost exactly like these Beings have been portrayed. He was about 2.5 to 3 foot tall and was wearing a dirty red pointed hat. He was dirty. His clothes were dirty. His face and hands were covered in dirt. He was of the earth most definitely! He wore dark brown dirty pants tucked into black boots that yes…..were covered in caked mud. He wore a light tan long sleeved shirt with a small dark green vest that had little trinkets sewn onto the edges of it.
He had long hair and a full long beard. I liked him immensely, but I'm a Capricorn so I could relate to all of his earthy-ness! After about half a minute, he simply vanished before me. I knew he had been just as shocked at bumping into me and my actually seeing him, as I was of having him and not a cat step out of the tall grass! I'll never forget this close encounter with him and being able to sense and feel his energy."

Another recent encounter was shared with me at a Yahoo Esoteric forum:

Leila from Esotericresearch@yahoo.com

"…..About my friend – at first she did not see the gnome. She just noticed her cat behaving oddly (like he was being petted). Then one day she saw the gnome actually petting the cat and she has continued to see him when he is about. She told her brother about the gnome – who immediately told her she was daft…but then a few days later he also saw the wee cat fancier for himself. :-)

Blessings on your day!"

And last but not least– a person shares their encounter with a gnome outside in the snow:

"…….Second Experience: I was preparing myself to do a public channeling some years ago. It was during the Christmas holiday season. I took a nice walk outside and lost myself in childlike wonder and awe as I observed all the beautiful Christmas bright lights and decorations that graced the neighborhood. When I came back, I went around back to admire my friend's huge Oak tree. Minutes later, I seemed to fall into a light trance or something. And then out of nowhere I beheld this short man with a pointed hat, suspenders, breeches, and a big nose. He said that he was a snow gnome and that he and his kin lived in the oak tree. He said that they seldom come up to the earth because of the stench that most mortals emit. He added that the snow purifies the land and the air for a time, and during such times a snow gnome will occasionally make an appearance to a human when they perceive that the human is of pure intent and good hearted. We had a nice conversation. He told me that he was over eight hundred years old as were many of his kin, and we talked of other things. Then he bowed and said he must take leave.

I could not get him out of my mind. A few days later I wrote a story about a snow gnome. I know that he was real. It was just not 'reality' on the third dimension mundane level that we call ordinary reality.

In any case I found the snow gnome very fascinating and a good soul. I hope that he fares well and perhaps on some snowy wintry day, I may go back to my friend's house and see if he shows up.

I have also had a genuine Faerie encounter. A few years ago I was visited by a beautiful lady who came to me in a vision type of dream altered state. She taught me about soul merging on her distant planet she called Sulva. I have been visited by and gone on spirit soul journeys with many wonderful and wise beings who taught me so much. Some inhabit the higher astral planes while others come from distant stars but they are all loving, wise and very kind. I always learn something from each of them and my life is enriched when I have such encounters.

The soul is truly vast. We are all interconnected and can enjoy the company of our countless 'other worldly friend' who exist and live on many different dimensions and dimensions. Let us rejoice and give thanks for our oneness!

Blessings, "

Wow, Lisa! Thank you for the stories, they are quite amazing. That first one had me totally wide-eyed, how amazing it must be to see any fae in reality like that.

Oops, I forgot another incident someone shared with me-  they were heading to a wooded area to pick some blackberries with a friend, when to thier shock they saw a gnome picking blackberries. They asked him if they were permitted to pick some– and he said, "sure, go ahead" and then dissapeared..        That was a cool encounter !! :-)

Also- when I was making my gnome's motel–    After I finished making it–  I told our little pup, Mindy, to behave herself and said, "Mindy don't mess with the gnomes home!"   and as soon as I said that , I was interrupted by this thought that wasnt my own  which corrected me, "Gnomes MOTEL!'      So apparantly a gnome was there watching me finish making it and they wanted me to know they were there :-)

it's funny how I made it- I think I had the Gnomes help—  because  I actually asked any gnomes outside if they could help me make a building for them–  as I had been making them for the winged faery only at that point.

I took  a walk throughout the farmlands where I live and mysteriously found a perfectly round wooden base from an old barn door laying in the fields.  Then i found large sections of mossy bark on the ground near the wooded areas.

I just felt right about taking these things for– as though they were placed there just for me to use .      I used a large round houseplant containeras the base- and hot glue-gunned the bark stripps all around it-  and added an amythest  as an accent.
