Interpreting my sister's bizarre dream…

Hi all, my sister has been having a recurring dream lately which is unusual for her. Usually if she has dreams about the same characters and places for more than one night, they are a continuation of a storyline inside her head. However, this has been the same dream over and over, and she wakes up crying and clutching her sheets as hard as she can every night. Even though the dream is completely fictional, I'd like to know what it means so that I can tell her.
In her dream, she is a soldier in a strict military society who has dishonored the entire army. She doesn't know what she has done to dishonor them - she doesn't know in the dream or when she wakes up – but her dream-self does shout out, "I'm sorry! I'm sorry!" over and over. The higher-ranking officers strip her of her weapons, injure her, and then punish her by sending her to dig holes with other "dishonored" soldiers for the rest of her life. She doesn't get any food or rest there, just digging holes for hours on end. My sister claims that in her dream she actually experiences 72 hours passing, her mind only filled with sorrow for what she has done and a small desire to escape, until she finally collapses onto her knees, exhausted, hungry, and crying. That's when she wakes up.
I asked this on Yahoo! Answers as well, and I have gotten a few answers that seem plausible, but I thought people here might be better at interpreting this.

Every dream means something. Most dreams are about whats going on in your head, its just sometimes you supress the feelings and sometimes its just something going on in the unconscious. It seems like maybe your sister feels she has dishonored someone and that she feels she needs to be punished or afriad she might get punished. You should ask her if she feels this way. Also are the other characters people she knows?

It could very well be that she is remembering a past-life.   If that is the case, what she had done to dissapoint others in that life is meant to be a learning experience for her-  but not something she should continue to beat herself over her head about-  we all make mistakes and the best of persons can find themselves in situations where they offend others.   These circumstances teach us humility,   and the very ones who had pointed fingers at her obviously need to also go through this lesson as well– and wil find themselves one day in similar situations.

It could also be that she is vicariously experiencing what someone from long ago had actually experienced- and her soul is sharing in thier suffering from the past while she is in the dream state.    If that is the case, she may not realize it but she is actually helping to share the burden that person still feels– wether they are still alive, or out of thier body now.

I'd pray for her- that  her soul will give her rest over mistakes from the past- and that she wil become that much wiser from it- without tormenting herself- and will also pray that if this is someone elses reality she is sharing for them that their soul will also be at peace now over it.

hugs

Lisa

Can you ask your sister to try and push aside the despair in her dreams and try to remember details. it could be the key to figuring out whether it is past life like Lisa suggests, a metaphor for a problem in her own life or if she is possibly channeling another person who is currently experiencing the things that are happening in her dreams. i am aware of instances in the past and at present where soldiers have gone through and are going through the scenes your sister describes. ask her the following, it may also help her control the fear she has while dreaming to focus on her surroundings and details rather than the feelings.

Is it cold, wet, warm where she is?

is the earth hard or soft to dig?

is the earth made of sand, rock or mud?

can she remember the colour and cut of her clothes or the officers clothes?

Does she feel that she is male in this dream?

is she in a compound/ military camp or is it a barren field?

what noises does she hear around her?

please post if she has the dream again or can answer these questions. I hope her sleep retuens to normal soon.

May you have the hindsight to know where you've been

the foresight to know where you're going

and the insight to know when you're going too far.
