So, I was interested to know if anyone's ever heard of a Fetch before. A Fetch is like a Changeling, but it's nastier than one. A Changeling is a faerie that has been switched with a human's soul or a human form, a fetch is neither a faerie nor a human, but has been put into a human body by a faerie.
Fetches start out as blobs of white-ish goo that resemble um… a flubber. A faerie takes this Fetch and removes the human soul from the human that they are interested in, or the faerie soul from the human body it's residing it, and then it slips the Fetch down the human's mouth and said Fetch expands and attaches to everything that is that person. The Fetch THINKS it's that person and there's no way to convince it otherwise. However, the Fetch is NOT that person and there are differences.
A Fetch's intention is to drive away everyone that the person stolen is close to, and to eventually destroy the body it's living in, either by suicide or stupid actions. The reason for this is so that the real soul has no home or body to return to. The person that you once knew is no longer there, and every bad habit that they have, every tick, everything will amplify, until they are nothing but a shadow or a shell of themselves, a selfish person that their friends want nothing to do with.
The only way to get rid of the Fetch is to somehow convince the fae that took that person to give them back.
Btw: Seelie Fae as well as Unseelie Fae do this as well. Actually… the experience I have with this is with a Seelie Gentry Fae, who I'd rather like to kick. With that said, I wanted to know if anyone had any experience with this, or if it's just me.

No, I have never heard of a fetch before. Sounds really horrific!
Reminds me a bit of 'Invasion of the Body Snatchers'!

For fetch questions i highly reconmend any of the books writen by a traditional witch chap called robin arttison
his books will help you understand the term fetch as it has many meanings
the basic idea is that there is another copy of you that lives in the other half of your life which is primaraly a faerie being
who walks with you a co walker throught your life
whos primary purpose is to relay the messages of the good folk to you and relay the wisdom of the gods to you while allso help you to conect you with your ancestors and finaly protect you from any real serious harm .
It is one of the many goals of a witch to merge and become one with this being during ones lifetime ie the so called faerie lover
the term fetch also stands for ones animal totem the animal that closely resembles your true nature
your familiar which can come out of your body and preform tasks for you and can teach many deep wise things
or the fetch can also be your aura and shadow or light body shaped into a animal in the witch arte of shape changing
so there are many ideas on what exactly what a fetch actual is
though the darker natures and activities of faeries who are killing and soul stealing is simply ingnored by modern folk
as its simply not nice to think about the reality of such acts such as elf strike
is swept under the to hard to face carpet for many folk but thank fully this sight premotes a well grounded ballanced view on the faeries
their is good reason why i try and premote respect and caution when dealing with the fae
any hows hope this has helped bright blessings to you and all real faerie kin

Unfortunately, the fetches that I've had dealings with (and I have had some) were never that helpful. I had a friend recently who had been "fetched" and it was exactly as I described it, which was an awful lot to wrap my head around to say the least. But yes, many people don't want to see the darker side of faerie, it seems, and if they do, they automatically lable it as something evil, even though fae don't really understand the concept of Good and Evil, as it's more of a human, and specifically Christian concept.
However, this site does do a good job educating people about faeries and allowing people who do deal in the darker side of faerie to post their experiences and protections when dealing with them.

this has got me thinking if when the fetch re bodies a human is this the same thing as thre faery marriage the total unification with ones fetch as certain faery gurus folk about yes the seelie can be very vindictive cold and hateful ,vengeful an can do great malicious harm if the mood takes them even more so more than unseelie at times such has been my experience

Since the fetch is a part of, or assigned and unified at birth to a person, a faery to human marraige would mean your aura being or magical self has fully expanded you in all the awareness needed to bond in love to the elven soul. your whole substance would be altered to accomodate the time shift, ultra beauty and other ancient mysteries. As for the person relating to there fetch, it does seem an intoxicating love or excitement to discover the secret world of faery and other dimensions of enlightenment, then the unity or the knowing, nirvana. At some point a person may shift and may be tempted to go left, this can cause bad karma. The fetch being used not to heal but to harm.If you have no protection this spirit element could harm you. Being in faery or coming home as they say all truths are released, you recognise what you missed was allways there, the fetches function is the last piece of the jigsaw puzzle that makes you whole, a part of all there is. just my opinion.

The thing about "fetches" though, is not something that is a "good" thing or "unifying" thing. It is, effectively, a form of kidnapping.
The faerie takes the human soul, separates it from the human body, and takes it with them, replacing that soul with a less-than-delightful substance. This "substance" attaches itself to the human body and imitates what that person used to be like. However, it makes you less and less like what you used to be, and eventually the fetch will kill you in the end.
The concept of "fetch" has nothing to do with enlightenment, a happy marriage (faerie or human), an "elven" or "faerie" soul, or traveling to faerie for fun. It has everything to do with the intentions of the faerie who stole the soul and took it with them. It is almost like the "changeling" process. At least the changeling process is a little bit more "magical" and "happy" than this option.
This is what I have learned from the fae here. They all tell me it is a bad thing and not something pleasant. After two years of having my life saved by them in two major accidents, I am inclined to believe them on this topic, and I refuse to move.
