The sidhe like to hunt and in fact one of the British kings is the patron of the hunt and helped king Arthur who is also intimately tied to the sidhe with the hunt of the famous wild boar whose welsh name I can't spell for beans.
There are highly contrasting views among pagans in this regard. Respect is the key here. If you feel in your heart you should be following that path it's a perfectly good path to follow and you should do it.

I'm vegetarian! I didn't like the fact that i was killing animals for food, so one night My mum, one of my older sisters and I where sitting down for dinner, and it just so happened that we where having chicken that night, i ate all my rice and vegies(Whitch i never did normally) I took my plate out to the kitchen when i was done, and i told my sister to go away so i could talk to my mum alone, i told my mum that i wanted to be a vegetarian, and i gave her my resons, then we told my sister……she laughed at me, then she ate my left over chicken…..-_-"
Almost three years since then, i was 11 when i went vegetarian, now i'm 13!! I fell better about it too, and everyone in my family didn't think that i would make it, and i have and i have caught less colds too!

I was a vegetarian for a while but I'm not longer one. While I would rather go out and catch food myself (Fishing is what I would probably do), I instead have to rely on good farmers. The way I see it, it's supporting the life of the farmer, his or her family, and his employees. And I only choose to support those who practice humane techniques. Organic, free range, grass fed, etc. Otherwise I won't eat it.

I'm not vegetarian because my body tells me it still needs meat, but since my first conscious contact with the fae I found a need to limit my meat intake to fish and fowl, and I try to eat more veggies than meat. Doing this seems to have lightened my 'vibes' some, I guess – at any rate, I'm finding it easier to explore nonphysical things these days. With that being said, it's quite possible that being a vegetarian would raise your vibes even higher. After all, you quite literally are what you eat.
Just sayin'. :)

@Cocoa
I never saw it that way, i suppose people who buy meat are supporting farmers and their families, whitch is a good thing!
I hate the smell of meat now, it makes me want to…..well, you know, "Be sick", so i don't think that i could go back to eating meat…..

I have trouble eating grains they tend to cause problems. But even if you eat meat it is best to eat mostly fruits and vegetables. soy also tends to cause problems for me. Fish and poultry are best. I find that overeating in general or eating til full tends to interfere with esoteric work more so than what is being eaten. My husband and I did an experiment with this. The time I went on a vegetarian diet I didn't feel good at all. So everyone's different.

Hi– I made it online today– woohoo!
Yes, I only eat chicken, turkey and fish- Occasionally will have some red meat , but basically stay away from pork and cow meat. I do eat eggs and cheese products, but have found that I keep the weight off by eating a small portion of fish or fowl (not duck though) and more veggies and fruits. Grains tend to make me overweight- so I only eat them sparingly. A good snack for me would be a chunk of sharp chedder cheese with some slices of Macintosh apples…yummmm!!
or some red wine and cheese- and a good lunch would be either vegetarian chili with cheese melted on it or a nice dark green leafy salad with hardboiled eggs ,chickpeas and chunks of broccoli, black olives, and cheese tossed in- and then seasoned with olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
If you' are a vegetarian- it is advisable to take B12 supplements daily.
hugs
Lisa

I tried going vegetarian once and it was a mess. I was weak, sleepy and felt generally sick. I went back to meat, which I personally love (specially red meat, people tell me it's weird for a woman. I think they might be right since most women I know dislike red meat or at least, prefer white meats and vegetables). Or couse, I have to eat it with care since I have several metabolic problems XD But I suppose everyone has different nutritional needs and tastes. So if you are vegetarian, enjoy and eat well :)

I'm a vegetarian!
I've been one since I was 12 and I feel absolutely great! I agree with the eating of animals like the Native Americans did and other native peoples but since then the meat industry has gone absolutley sick and commercial. I disagree with the way its done and that people with meat on their plates dont even know where its come from and as long as its meat they're happy. Our ancestors use to only pick out the old and dying and thank the spirit of the animal for giving up their life for them to carry on living. Now its just a meat-churning-out factory. The ways the animals are treated before they are killed is also very cruel but I wont go into that now… Sorry I sound so negitave but its something i feel strongly about.
But for those people who eat meat its their choice and i totally respect their opinion

Hello, I was 'born' a vegetarian since my family are all vegetarians. It's more than a choice, its simply what we've always done. This is in part due to our Indian heritage but also, since I was born in England, a personal choice. I once ate a fishstick at school before I realised what a vegetarian was, but that was it. The smell and appearance of meat and fish really doesn't appeal to me, and I would never eat it willingly.
On the other hand, I do think that humans ought to eat meat and fish, since it was essential for our evolutionary development and may be necessary in the future. Just as long as I'm not the one doing the killing and the eating! Also, If I met a woman who was totally worth it, I'd cook meat for her as an act of love. My sister does the same for her boyfriend despite her revulsion for the stuff.
I can imagine how difficult it is for 'meaties' to turn vegetarian, especially if you or your family lack experience. Not only does your diet have to provide the same requirements as any other, it has to provide protein and Omega oils without using the foodstuffs that are most rich in them! Seeds and nuts in muesli, pulses and lentils for main meals and eggs and tofu are all excellent substitutes when taken regularly. As for giving up the pleasures of meat, I'm not in a position to say, other than that the vegetarians I know haven't 'given up on food.' In fact, they are the most epicurean people I know (myself included). There are a wealth of textures and flavours in the world that I doubt any one person could sate themselves with.
Watch out though, because it can also make you fat! Vegetable oil, clarified butter and sugar are responsible for vegetarian obesity. Avoid fried foods and desserts and you should be fine though.
Eat on, whether it's meat or whatever,
Neil

I know, sometimes when I eat meat their torturous life flashes before my eyes and I feel guilty, but it tastes good anyway, but I do especially feel guilty when I drink shark's fin, their pain felt on the fin can be felt on my back too but my family orders it anyway only because the restaurant made it really well. I'm currently keeping all my wednesdays vegetarian. If I ever found myself with meat on a meal on Wednesday I would use the next day's meal as a vegetarian meal to substitute it.

Always listen to your body. :) It will tell you what it needs. Although it's true that eating plenty of vegetables is good for you, the human body is designed to be able to eat meat, and some (many?) people do still need meat in order to stay healthy. No worries. Just pay attention to what your body tells you it wants, and you'll be able to figure out what balance is right for you. And remember, over time that balance could change.
