Really, some of the things I'd like to talk about concern things like how the whole Seelie vs. Unseelie division seems just a little bit too pat to me to be strictly true as currently presented…
The final call is, of course, up to Natalie and Susan.
Hey Athidal,
I'm not really sure what you mean by this – maybe you think it has been simplified so that everyone can grasp the concept? That would probably be true…
Anyway, I have gone ahead and created the Elder Forum and you can find it here: http://www.realfairies.net/for…..lder-forum
At this point there are no restrictions on who can participate and we will see how it all goes from here. I certainly would not want to exclude people who can make important contributions (such as Sir Zachary) and want to participate but we want to keep this at an adult level.
I'm looking forward to some interesting discussions.

Thanks, Natalie! I really appreciate your being willing to give this a try, and I hope others will be willing to join in. I am also looking forward to some interesting discussions!
About the Seelie/Unseelie thing, you're exactly right about what I was thinking. I think I'll work on a post about that soon and see if I can get some conversation going.

Strange, I've been thinking the same thing. In the effort to keep these forums perfectly kid-safe, it's sort of become not adult-safe. Maybe there could be a board where discussions could be had on a more complicated level without needing to worry about keeping everything kiddie-vanilla. Is that even possible? Is there any general interest in that kind of thing here?
thats not nice how u called it “kidie-vanilla” they started this so we could stop getting on ur nerves about wings
I didn't mean for it to sound insuting, Fire Fae, and I'm sorry if you felt that it was. What I was trying to say (and I forget who actually started the topic in the 'for teens' forum, you're right, maybe that wasn't quite the best place to do it) – what I was trying to say is that there are some things that are complicated in ways that can make them hard to talk about in a way that the younger readers on these forums would feel comfortable with. It isn't a comment on anyone's intelligence.
Think of it this way: in grade school classrooms they teach about atoms and molecules being like little nucleuses of protons and neutrons with electrons orbiting them like planets, because you sort of have to understand them that way first in order to understand the teachers in the higher grades when they tell you that really, the idea of an electron orbiting a nucleus like a little planet around a sun isn't true. It's just easier to understand than electron shells and valences. And then, when you move on to college, you might get a teacher who starts talking about quantum physics, and up and down quarks, and explains why even electron shells and valences aren't quite the right idea, either, and how maybe it's all down to superstrings (but we aren't sure yet). So, maybe you can see why people who want to talk about superstrings might have trouble discussing them with grade schoolers. ^_^
I didn't mean to offend anyone, I just would really like to be able to talk about superstrings. If you see what I mean.
i think that we're gunna get separtated from eachother….teens will post on the teens and adults will post on the adults one! we'll never come together. that would just lead me to leaving this website…i dont wannna be separated from anyone……………………………………………………………………………….

No, we certainly don't want you to feel this way and that would be very sad if you left. We don't value older members more than the younger ones – all are important here. A good thing to realize here is that we are just talking about one small section of the entire forum and even then, you would certainly be welcome to particpate if you wanted to.
Mainly, we are setting aside a section where we can talk about more complicated and deeper subjects on a more serious level than is sometimes found in other sections, that's all. You know sometimes people like to spam a bit and be silly and playful with each other, well this probably wouldn't be the place to do that.

You are very welcome! And thank you for caring and wanting to have a place to discuss these things, I appreciate that!
