I'm currently at college, on a fairly crowded and urbanized campus which depresses me because of the lack of wild nature. I figured that here would be the last place I'd ever encounter Faeries or anything otherworldly, but last night (I should say, very early this morning) I witnessed something very interesting.
I'll start with my first curious sighting, which happened a week or so ago. I study late at the library nearly every day and don't head back to my dorm until usually 1:30 — 2 am. On my way back, I saw a small fluffy "cloud," relatively spherical, floating very deliberately overhead. It was maybe 20 feet or so in the air, and it floated in a rather quick, deliberate path over toward a tree. My first thought was "Aww dandelion poofs!" but I realized it's nowhere near the season for that. I don't think it was animal fur either, as the squirrels haven't started hibernating. It could have possibly been dryer lint lol, but it was a white poof/orb and fairly opaque.
And last night as I was just about to head into my dorm building, I caught sight of movement above my head (this time maybe 8 feet in the air), and I turned to watch it because this shape — like my "poof" before" — moved very deliberately and quickly, in a straight path, making it stand out from the few leaves fluttering. It looked light beige in color and maybe 6 inches long, but other than that I couldn't make out any particular details, other than perhaps "kinda like a long, rounded rectangle." It landed very briefly on a tree branch and before I could really look at it, it spiraled around the trunk (sort of like a squirrel does) and ended up behind the tree and out of sight. Again, my initial thought was not "Faery!" I was actually hoping it would be some cute nocturnal mammal, or maybe a tiny owl. I of course went around the tree and nothing was there at the base or up in the bare branches. So I left the tree but looked back over my shoulder and I saw a hint of something light beige in color move back behind the trunk. I stood there for maybe 5 minutes, just staring, waiting to see anything again, but I had no luck. I would have checked out the tree again but it was pushing 3:30 am and I needed to get to bed :/
I'm just perplexed honestly, and I'm not sure what to make of these sights. Any opinions are welcome, and I'm hoping for advice on how to determine if I saw anything special at all — do you think scrying would help? Maybe just some meditation or ask for more information in a dream?
