A curious thing happened to a string

I'm really having quite a morning here. I had bought a recurve bow because I like archery and wanted to do some shooting. In fact I like just about anything to do with targets.  Anyway my freind who I bought the bow from showed me how to string it and we practiced a few times. It's a little tricky to do. We didn't get any other bows out and my husbands bow which is a type of long bow we didn't string because he wasn't sure if it would hold up or not. It's about 50 years old.  Well I had a very hard time finding arrows. It's hunting season and people buy them up fast. So a month goes by finally find some the other day. This morning I get out early to do some shooting. I go to put the string on the bow and the thing's 3 inches too long. It won't even get tight. I KNOW that was the same string I shot the bow with. All three of us were messing with it and we put the bow right into the car string and all We didn't play with any of the other ones. So I'm scratching my head and thinking what is going on here then I thought hmmm wonder if it will fit the long bow. I put it on and it fits perfectly. The poundage of the pull is the same on both bows I can't figure out why this happened.

Okay guys whats the deal you don't like the recurve bow and of course no explanations are forthcoming

I know nothing about bows or archery but that reminds me of a few weeks back when I swear that the bell bottoms pants I made…well, the panels I made for the triangle side had gotten tore pretty high…I am a pretty accident prone person.

Anyways, the next morning I put them on and find that that rip ended up not being that high…I checked both legs to see if I was looking at the wrong leg.

I just thought it was curious and kind of related to your experience.

Of course, maybe it was not a high rip when I caused it…I did freak out a bit when that happened and yeah…it probably seemed high at the time. Hehe.

This is a long bow, the type is called the self bow

This is identical to my recurve bow

The strings are not interchangable and have to be fit to the individual bows. The long bow is an old bow and we were going to have to custom fit a string for it.  I emailed the guy who sold me the bow to see if he had any strings mismatched just to be sure. Regardless of how it happened it's near impossible that a recurve string should fit a long bow and he had only hunting recurves. What's more there were two other people with me while  we were doing this. My husband was not comfortable with the guy selling the bow and wanted to make sure everything was okay. We all strung this bow and shot with it. Then I put it into the car, just afterwards there's NO WAY that could be the wrong string, and there no way the two strings would be interchangable and Hubby wasn't about to let this guy touch the long bow.  The sidhe did something to the string or somehow switched strings but even then those other bowstrings shouldn't fit that long bow.

My question is why. Usually for pranks they just hide stuff and it turns up later when they've had a laugh over the silly human going crazy looking for it. There's a reason for this that I have no clue about. …. but then if a sidhe explains themselves they're not sidhe.

I'm going to post the ending to this little event because something more happened yesterday. And it's important to understanding how fairies usually work with humans. It turned out the string was the right string but I was stringing the bow backwards. I drove 4 hours to Antigonish to buy the bow another string still thinking the one I had had grown three inches. I had to leave the bow at the archery shop for an hour while I finished my christmas shopping. In the nearby town of Antigonish there is a shoping mall with the store that had the right size shoes that I was looking for for my husband. I had searched all over Cape Breton and couldn't find the right size anywhere. That was one synchronicity. The second yesterday we had a fairly significant gale. Winds were blowing 60-70 mph with a driving rain….( I'm totally disgusted that it's raining this late but a blizzard would have kept me from going) No one likes to go out in a gale.. it's a good time to shop. I find the stores overwhelming and I get nervous in crowds I didn't find out about the string til I got home ( or I would have thought the other one increased too.) So now we have both bows with strings.

THe message here to me was clear that learning the  use of the longbow is for some reason important to my Sidhe spirit guide, even though the recurve is also a traditional bow and not a modern compound monstrocity. The manipulation of events let to my buying two bow strings and stringing the longbow and using it which showed that the bow in spite of 50 years of being stowed away was still in working order. Furthermore the events were manipulated so that I would find the right size shoes I was looking for and unable to find and do so with greater comfort than usual because the crowds were kept down by the storm.

It also points out the importance of careful observation and alertness with dealing with the sidhe and other spirits. Now obviously Irish was doing this with my well being in mind but another spirit might not be so benevolent nor humans who cultivate parasitic relationships. The question is could I have seen through the illusion presented here.  In this I did right in trusting my intuition. I did need to have two bow strings and the shoes I needed were in the same town as the archery shop. And for reasons yet unknown the use of the longbow is important for me to learn, an illusion too or something I have to take a step of faith on. I also cannot take him for granted. He is sidhe he never lets me forget who he is and even though there's no physical harm coming to me I don't want to be easy prey for those who might do harm.
