I thought this would be a good thread for us to share our experiences with the trees.
I found this excerpt from a really good forum relating to trees:
"……There are earth elementals that the Greeks called dryads. The nourish plants. Hamadryads are tree spirits. Each tree has a soul that dies when that tree dies. The druids believed that humans descended from tree spirits. Each one having its own magic qualities for each is a letter of the alphabet of God. Each tree spirit is attached to the tree, but can travel as far as the aura of the tree in which it lives. “All plants are our brothers and sisters. They talk to us and if we listen, we can hear them.” Arapaho tribe. I had the pleasure of meeting one once in a dream. I walked up to the tree in the backyard of where I currently live. I looked at the tree and noticed a black silhouette of a man in the tree. As I approached, he came out from his sitting position and stood before me. I said to him, “The land is beautiful.” He replied, “The last one to survive receives all this beauty.” The next day I went out to that old tree and noticed a huge mushroom on its trunk. So I bent down and touched it. As my fingers came in contact with the mushroom, the still air was no longer, for an air elemental in the form of a semi- strong wind came from the west and blew by me. I felt peace. I feel honor to have the knowledge of the wonderful world of elementals. Keeping in line with the subject of trees; in the story of the Garden of Eden, it was the old apple tree that held the wisdom of love and healing in the fall into matter. The apple tree is the earliest cultivated tree. So it stands to reason that the Seraphim’s plant totem is an apple tree. I am not sure what the tree in the back yard is, but I can tell ya that it has been here awhile…."
I know trees have individual souls as do animals and humans. Humans, I believe, have a soul as well as a spirit, but all living things have a soul– the individual personality, feelings, opinions and energy of each living thing. Birds have souls, turtles have souls– trees also have souls.
Once when last Summer, I decided to hug the beautiful old pine tree in our back yard that has been there before I was born. I feel this tree has a masculine energy for some reason- a male soul. I hugged it with all of my heart and guess what? I felt the tree hug me right back!! A most loving energy I felt wrap around me in response as I hugged that tree, and that confirmed for me that these beautiful Creations must be respected as we would respect any fellow human.
Many times if I walk right by a tree I see every day- and ignore it while I am distracted by my daily agenda, I will actually sense a feeling of hurt – and I know it's from that tree. I have to actually walk back to the tree and touch it– and greet it.
Over a year ago, while I was still half asleep in bed, I heard the sound of wailing and crying of several women outside of our home. I found it very odd, and this jolted me awake. Once 100% awake, I heard nothing, but I knew that this experience was spiritual in nature– and I did have a strong sense that I was permitted to hear the sound of grief from nature guardians over something happening outside. Mr. E confirmed this later after I asked him about it–
When I took a walk down from our home, I saw that there were three trees freshly cut down near a stone wall– They were healthy trees- healthy maples. I still feel hurt over this– humans don't understand the impact we make in other realms by our actions.
Thankfully, Mr E suggested I plant some little trees near the cut down ones. I did- but on the other side of the stone wall – OFF of the property of the landowner who cut the old ones down. Happily, I noticed that the little trees I planted–two of them– took, and are now sweetly growing near the wall :-)
I don't believe that the souls in the trees die when the tree is murdered by saw or dies of old age either. I think their souls will often linger on Earth as humans souls will, or will also cross over into Paradise as well- Perhaps many of the trees people see in after-life experiences are actually re-born trees from Earth – whose souls crossed over and Light Beings assisted them by establishing them in various areas of the Heavenly realms.
The more you are connected with all life- the more you see, as the Arapaho Tribe does– that all plants are our brothers and sisters– then the more connected to Mother Earth you have now become– and the more you suffer heartbreak and sorrow, happiness and joy at all our great Family goes through on this Earth.
God Bless
Lisa

Well, now it's no secret I can talk to trees! Soon, you'll be glad you read this! Trees are friends I can chat with! I was born with it. Next time you go to the forest note the movements the trees make. Some are knotty and rude. While some are my favorite companions!:hug2: The trees, elves, sprites, and faeries tell me when I'm in danger or what to do in a incedent. Now the first step to companions like these is : belive. If you belive in faeries and magic strong and hard enough, your one step closer to the gold medal! Some of you might be like this:? you think I'm crazy?! This is how hard you have to belive: I was little, watching a Peter Pan special way past my bedtime, the clock said 10:37 the second movie finished, time for bed! With the theme song music swirling around in my head like a milkshake in a blender I tiptoe-danced to my bed, there I dreamed of Tinker Bell. – Nikkime:)
Years ago, I would have thought you lost your mind. But last year while hunting 'morels' , I would check around every dead elm tree. I would hum a little tune as I walked through the woods "Dead elm, dead elm, dead elm dead elm dead elm dead elm dead elm". One day I heard a response inside, it said "I am not dead". To which I laughed and said "You are too dead". I heard again "I am not dead yet." I carefully looked over the tree and found one tiny little branch which still had a few green leaves. The tree spoke the truth, it was not yet dead."

i talk to my plants, and i have sense weird feeling from them. Like eyes, but i'm not sure, i can't detail nor explain or understand the feeling. But i think they feel happy when i talk to them, it's like they pay attention when i do, but whose know, i might just be feeling crazy.

They do feel happy, Ta.
I recently read a book on this– some scientists back in the 70's or 80's did some tests on houseplants and found that they actually do react to our feelings about them. They sense our emotions and respond to love. All living things respond to energy-wether it is love or neglect.
They found in the tests that philandendrom plants they were testing reacted out of fear when they were hooked to a sort of polygraph machine and the owner of the plants visualized himself destroying them. All life is very sensitive…more than we humans know.
All things respond to love. :-)

Well, in the experiments, thankfully, the researcher sent out positive loving thoughts to the plants, and they showed on the polygraphs more relaxed feedback–like the plants calmed down .
I believe that when a plant or tree is in fear, it is usually because it knows it is about to be cut down or killed- so the rule of thumb is to not kill a tree before it's time to die, or to kill a healthy plant.
If there is a plant outside that needs to be removed from the garden, transplant it to another suitable area and water it , instead of pulling it out and discarding it to die. This goes for dandilions and all plants we normally consider "just weeds". Things we consider weeds are actually vital to insects, honeybees, butterflies, etc more than our storebought flowers.
When pruning a tree, pruning should be done in the Fall or early spring before the leaves sprout out. I was told that you should comfort the tree beforehand and tell it what is about to happen so it can prepare. Tell it to pull back it's energy from those parts that are about to be cut off.
When you see trees or bushes are being cut down– say a prayer for those trees souls' and for the remaining trees. Ask that God would assist them to cross over. Comfort the trees that are remaining by sending them thoughts that you just prayed for their destroyed loved ones that a door will be opened for them to cross over to the Higher Realms.
In a World where humans no longer live to themselves, but choose to align themselves to the Great Spirit, even needless killing of trees and plants will stop. Paper products and such willl be created from already fallen trees. After any storm or hurricane, those fallen trees that could not be replanted would be used and not wasted while thier souls would be assisted to the Higher realms.
To help all plants from feeling fear, make sure to pay attention to them- and send them love always- with houseplants, make sure they are watered–but not overwatered. Carress them and let them know they are a part of your family :-)

I love hugging trees and feeling their loving positive energy back! Its so comforting! I can also sense when a tree's in pain. There was one tree that had had branches cut off it in in the past and it was angry over those losses. I gave him some reiki energy, its amazing how receptive they are to healing energy, much more then humans! I love trees but could never own a garden..plants always seem to die on me, I don't think I care for them properly Pot plants always seem to die, no matter what I do!

Trees have excellent energy. Sometimes when i wake up , and i need a bit of energy , i ask them for a bit and i feel wonderful and i give some in return to those who need it. And one day i planted green beans , but they died. Then i tried planting an apple tree , yet i saw the green bean seeds already planted and i think it was the fae

No worries! you could have a tree woodland in your backyard- just plant trees-and let the little trees that sprout up out of nowhere remain! The plants that are meant to grow near the trees will sprout up on thier own!
REally, the best garden of all is if you plant totally native plants that naturally grow in your area. The will thrive over storebought or potted plants because they are meant to live in that area to begin with and you dont need a "green thumb" to tend to them.
I know what you mean by hugging trees- I have felt them very strongly- even today I hugged two very old large trees on my wallk, and I truly felt thier love and warm energy directed back at me :-)
I told these trees that I put them in God's hands, and it seemed they were happy that I did that– like they thought it was nice a human would do that for them.
Yes, it is true that there are trees that feel anger at humans — especially when they once lived around other trees –which were carelessly cut down. It is easy to be offended in the human race, let me tell you!
I was reading this book from author, Leslie Cabarga, named "Talks with Trees"– he is a psychic and he is able to communicate with trees and plants. I actually emailed him and he replied back a really nice email!
He shares in his book how many of the trees he spoke with were angry with humans– yet they still didnt want him to go away because they found in him a human that was actually willing to listen to them. Many of the things they told him made alot of sense!
It is good that you gave them Reiki, Jaylene- and that you showed them love and concern. Love and healing goes along way in helping any soul heal from hurt and anger.
hugs

i have been wondering, that if a tree have a soul do plant have soul. Like a individual soul per a plant.
sometime people can take part of a plant and grow it and it wouldn't die, in that case, would a new soul grow?
i have even thought of the experience of the plant soul, like were they once human, or did they once have a human life before, can a human be born as a plant etc. Cause in my culture they believe, that for a soul to be born in the human body, the soul must have to go through a life in body of all animals, they never mention plants. like a life as sheep, dog, cat, etc until a soul experience the time of every singe animals then they are born as human.

@Lisa A.- Grey Eyes
I completely agree with your theory of plants reacting to our emotions. I've always talked to plants. And I used to feel bad for weeds because people always pulled them out of the ground and put them in a yard waste bin. I got a big pot, filled it with dirt, and put some baby weeds in it. I didn't water them often, as I remember, but I loved them, and I'd go over to that pot and just sit there with the weeds. I loved them! They grew to be very, very big, and really pretty too! As time went by, they just got bigger and bigger and tons of insects made their home's around the weeds. It was fun, and I think they grew so big because I loved them and would sit with them all the time.

I'd like to share my 2 cents on that account. I've been in this technology college these days participating in a workshop. That building intimidated me, and I realized why a day after – there were no potted plants. Sure there were some near the carpark, but their distance is far away from where the classroom is and that really scared me. My house is full of potted plants and I talk/touch them everyday and I feel at home. Inside the building I felt as if everything DIED because it's all so mechanical and everything was dependent on technology. I guess you can say that trees actually do help you feel at one with the Earth and your surroundings, unlike a certain building where pretty much everything is made of plastic and metal @_@

I hear you Midnight's Song– It is not really healthy for humans to live in completely man-made environments with no plant life anywhere to be found- Even physically it's not healthy, but especially emotionally and spiritually as well.
We were not created to live completely isolated from other living things.
Dawnflower, that is beautiful- I think that those "weeds" really did respond to your positive energy.
Ta, I do believe that every living thing has a soul- including the smallest little dandilion. Everything that has life has a soul. I don't know enough about reincarnation to say. I guess there are many mysteries that we will not know on this side of the Veil until God shows us later

What some people believe is that there are certain types of souls which are specific to plants, animals, humans, and angels. Although the lines have started to kinda blur for me on this subject. To me energy is so flexible that I am not sure if I agree with this theory. Energy in it's purest form is just balls of light and color which hold certain unique emotions and feelings. It is why certains things (like plants) make you feel at home. It is like everything around us is just a case for this light. But what is the mind without the body? What is the physically without the astral? All things are precious. It is all part of balance.

I just stumbled upon some really great information about trees. The site really makes you appreciate all trees do for us.
Most of us already follow the steps in this "hub" but it really makes me want to go outside and hug a tree, so I thought I would share it anyway. This hub give a wonderful message, stating that the trees love us and we should love them.

Sarah, that is a great site! I just went over there and posted a comment.. thanks for sharing it :-)
here is an account of someone and her husband actually seeing tree spirits back in 2003
http://paranormal.about.com/li…..y03_15.htm
Your True Tales February 2003 – Page 15
Tree Spirits by moseley50
Nine years ago, my husband walked over a local golf-club footpath on his way home at midnight and after suddenly feeling cold, realized a wafting whitish "column" about 6 feet tall and 2 feet off the ground came out of bushes to his left and floated steadily past him to the right. I then read about an engineer's similar experience camping in Wales. About two weeks later I (bravely) went with him and couldn't believe my eyes when I saw what appeared to be two little bobbling white transparent fir tree shapes floating in the same direction, but from a spot further along than his shape. My husband saw them too. We watched them for about 30 seconds, then they blended in with the trees of the same shape on the steep bank. I thought of tree spirits.
By the way, we had in each case come from the pub, but had not had more than four shots each! I study local history and this was an old hunting park later made into a golf-course. Where my husband saw the first phenomenon a "dip" is marked probably an old path through the ditch that marked the boundary of the park. On the other side of the "cut" from the brook are a row of modern houses along the lane, then at that point a farmhouse dating back to the 15th cent. Beyond that the canal and the river. This is absolutely true and not the only instance of ghostly activity in this ancient village where I live."
