Hi everyone, I thought this might be worth mentioning just to get your oppinions. Today I was sitting on my couch, watching television when I glanced out my window to see some sort of butterfly I think it was.

The strange part was it was unusually large, I second guessed it wondering if it was a bird, but it certainly was some sort of insect. It was large for a butterfly, at least one I've ever seen in the area I live. I only saw it for a second, before it dissapeared from my site. I didnt think to get up and go outside to see it more clearly, which I wish I'd done now.

Anyways, from what I could see its wings were a reddy brown color, with black designs, it looked like a monarch butterfly actually, which is silly because they dont live where I live! Its body also looked usually big…hmm.

So what do you guys think? I dont really know what to think, because I dont think it was a fairy, well it could have been, i'm not too sure. But then I find it strange to see a species of butterfly I've never seen before.

Okay I'm glad you posted this because i've been up all night thinking about this. I think shape shifters are subtle in their approach.  I'm converting a horse shed into a studio.  I was taking a break with the doors open and a red squirrell saunters into the building. It comes right up to me looks me over checks out the rest of the place and leaves. I said hi to it which startled it somewhat. next day I was playing music and about 20 dragon flies appeared in the pasture. Weird thing about that …. no fresh water nearby. It's all salt water around here. Third yesterday a robin lands on the far side of the pasture then works his way up to the shed hopping and staring at me.   I didn't say anything this time just glanced here and there and kept with doing my activity  So I think this is simliar to what you saw. Not sure the sure if they were or not the squirrell I think there was a good chance. I believe I'm being watched

Lisa – thank you again, you always have the most helpful things to say. I didnt put a lot of thought into the fact that it could be a shapeshifter, but its very possible that the strange butterfly was one.

Bluefirephoenix – Thats interesting about your past few encounters, in all of them the animals are doing something out of the ordinary, which definetly makes them seem like more than animals. Shapeshifters? It very well could be. Fae taking on the form of animals. I'm going to keep an eye out now for other strange animals.
