My possible fairy encounters

I actually am uncertain they are fairy encounters. I attributed much of it to ufos for many years, but now that I am doing research on Celtic folklore, I'm thinking about them in a new light.

1. Growing up, I could see a huge mango tree outside my room. When I would wake up and look at the tree, before my eyes would adjust, I could see distinct figures around the tree. They were friendly and would turn to wave at me. I always thought I was seeing things, but I saw them so clearly and consistently I wonder about it now.

2. I did a ritual in the woods at night during my first year of college with some girlfriends. It wasn't a bad ritual, we were ridding ourselves of negative energies. While we were leaving, we spotted this gentle, glowing, floating orb fly away. It was unlike anything I'd ever seen, and we didn't have fireflies in the area (although it seemed a little big for a firefly). We didn't get bad vibes from it and marveled at its beauty for about 2-3 minutes until we could no longer see it.

3. A couple years back, I was talking on the phone in my parent's yard at almost sunset when I noticed these weird dark feathers were falling in my yard. I got off the phone and went to see what it was, but it seemed to have disappeared in the grass. Then, I noticed they were still falling. I caught one in my hand and rubbed it to see what it was– it dissolved into GLITTER. It was the weirdest substance.

A few minutes later, I decided to take my dog on a walk. By then it was dusk, and I was trying to hurry since there was no one out and a very creepy silence around. I began to walk on the side of the road when asomething about the size of a softball hit my head. Whatever it was, it was invisible. It didn't hurt, but it was hard and abrupt. I looked around to see what kid threw something at me and no one was there. I think this may have been a practical joke of some sort, although there was a creepy feeling as well, and I got the feeling I was being watched. I hurried home.

4. There is a beautiful tree near my parent's street that I always loved. It had these long vines growing from it, and one day I looked at it and saw a woman, the most beautiful woman with the vines as her hair. It was just a moment, but from then on I would bow to the tree in reverence and put my hands on her when I needed strength because I felt a powerful spirit resided there.

5. Just the other day, while walking back to my apartment, I got this inner feeling to go through the forest instead of on my usual path. So I did, and on the very edge was bits of beautiful colored glass, and I picked them up and put them in my purse. I jokingly called it "gifts from the fairies" and realized well, why not give a gift back? So I wrapped a piece of candy and a note of thank you. I went there, and looked for any more glass, but there were none. I found a good spot at the base of the tree to leave my offering. What's weird is I could feel them– or something there. As soon as I turned around, I gasped since there were three glass pieces where I had just checked! I took them but nothing much has happened since. I said my thank yous, but my offering is still there as far as I can tell. Maybe I freaked them out?

These are the main ones, and overall I am writing this to get peoples' perspectives on the occurances. You who know way more about this than I do!

Welcome to Real Faeries first of all!

and I dont think your experiences were UFO related but are actually FAERY related!

the Faery will make things dissapear alot and they also do often fly within orbs, or appear as orbs or flying lights many times.

That tree woman (dryad?)  encounter is also so beautiful!   I do hope that tree is still standing there and your family didnt cut it down!!       I don't believe that the tree spirits die when they tree dies though-    They are guardians of the trees,  and I firmly believe thier spirits continue to live as all intelligent souls do.    I do feel that they grieve when a tree they watch is prematurely cut down–which happens alot on this planet anymore :-(       Planting a new tree in that old tree's place makes them smile.

Thanks for sharing your experiences–  and please feel free to share more!   I believe you have had lifelong interaction with the Faery kind, but just didnt know it many times–     Probably the faery were impressed with you and your friends as they do observe humans., and they were allowing you to see them or experience them–

The falling feathers that turns to glitter in your hands reminds me soooo much of something they would do for fun!

hugs

Lisa

All of your encounters sound very real. You've had so many, which makes me think the fae have been there all along. Congratulations! I hope you continue to have these amazing experiences :)

Thanks to you both for responding. I have always had a feeling about the faeries, that they were near. I have a feeling I've always known about them but have forgotten. For instance, when I was in first grade, about 6 years old, I remember we had a class activity in which the adults would staple folded pieces of paper together to create "books" and we would get to write and color in the books. I drew pictures of fairy women with long hair and went on about what they did. Although I couldn't convey it at the time, I was drawing a purification ritual. I knew what I was trying to say but my vocabulary was limited.

I have a book called "The Philosopher's Fire: The History of Human Imagination" which suggests that we humans, though are advancing in technology, have gone backwards as far as using the power of our minds, and therefore cannot see fairies and other phenomena which used to be so prevalent. He also suggests that sightings of the "folk" and ufo's are one in the same. In the past, it was accepted that a floating, glowing orb was a fairy. Now, it is possible an alien spacecraft. Our technology obsessed culture accepts the idea of technological societies from "out there" having an interest in us (a great boost to the giant Westen ego, as well, haha). But the idea is because our culture accepts this more than, then our expectations have changed our perception of this type of experience. There are many strange "transitional" stories that combine both elements of "little green alien men" and "little green nature men". Interesting, no?

I myself am inclined to believe that our ancestors had it right, that we share the earth with beings, and that we as well as they are multi-dimensional, though we have forgotten it. As Shakespeare wrote, "There are more things in heaven and Earth, Horatio, than your philosophies ever dreamt of".

Very true!

I do, nowever,  think that sometimes people do confuse alien beings (who are also multi-dimensional) with faeries-    but there are so many multi-dimensional Beings.   We lump them together in one catagory.   it's very interesting.

I can't wait to learn more :-)
