I have a fairy garden and have been trying to connect with nature spirits for awhile.  In November I planted seeds for wild flowers and in the past three weeks the are has bloomed.  It is almost breathtaking.  Today I looked out of my window and saw the cutest squirrel running across the ground and back into the flower fairy garden area.  I have never seen a squirrel like this around here  - it wasn't a ground squirrel – it had a big fluffy tail.

I have heard that sometimes fairies appear as squirrels.  Does anyone have any information on this?

Yes, Dante is right-   it could be a faery in disguise-    or else the faeries are ushering  it into their garden for fun as well :-)

Congratulations on your flower garden blooming!  You are also helping the butterfly and honey bee population by these flowers!

I've seen a rabbit walk right by me in our back yard– really close too.   Rabbits are normallly very afraid of humans, so it was unusual for it to have been so brave.   I noticed that it had stopped right where I placed some treats for the faerykind near a pine tree.     I shut my eyes so that I wouldnt scare it, and when my eyes were shut,  in my mind's eye I saw this Elven type Being — a green outline of this Being with long flat ears- about 3 ' tall.    I didnt see his features— just his outline in bright green light.  Startled I opened my eyes, then noticed the rabbit was gone.  I shut my eyes again and saw nothing.

Last Winter (2009)  I was picking up garbage along the roadside and asked any Elven beings or faery to be with me–   While holding up the large garbage bag past some trees I was walking near, I saw a green orb near one of the tree trunks.   I moved my elbow to push my glasses up- thinking there was somethign on my glasses, then I noticed my glasses were clean!

I've heard that fairies disguise themselves as animals as well, most commonly butterflies. But the fact that this squirrel didnt look like any other you had seen, contributes to the fact he may be special…..Laugh

Wow, that is very exciting! Coincidentally, yesterday I saw an auburn colored squirrel, and only grey ones live in my area.  This gets me wondering if it has anything to do with fae.

Thank you all so much for your replies.  I feel very strongly about this now.  I saw the squirrel again yesterday, but the squirrel is so fast – just ran back into the fairy flower garden and disappeared.  Then today, I was sitting outside and saw this brown face in the plants looking at me, but then disappeared quickly.  I feel that the fairies know I want to connect with them, but I am not able to see them so they are giving me a more physical sign.
