So, the fairy boy visited me again at about 8 a.m. this morning. I woke up to find him sitting on top of the fairy house, smiling at me. Again, I did the silly thing, and asked him his name, to which he responded, "And why should I tell you?" This was the first time I had heard him speak, so I was a little surprised at first. Then, I remembered the feather he had when he first contacted me, so I asked how he would like being called 'Plume.' He thought about it for a moment, his smile broadened, and he said, "Okay, then, Plume it is." Unfortunately, he disappeared again, but I have a feeling I'll be seeing him again soon!

Excellent. It's hard to remember stuff when you've been awakened isn't it.  Just something to bear in mind. He may look young  but he could be thousands of years old.  How was he dressed do you remember? as many details on that as possible.

Okay Im wide awake now and I was thinking about your post.  Another really important thing to know is the color and appearance of the feather he was carrying. The feather would be a good thing to ask about.

We can learn a number of things already from what has happened.  First, this fairy is probably not a child. Mr. E mentioned that it is very difficult to cross the veil from his end this is something that has been confirmed by my own sources as well as classical literature. Fairy do not age as humans do so. Also their voices are different and men do not deepen to the extent that humans do at puberty. There are numerous descriptions of this both modern and classical.  He appears to be highly trained in magic.  He is not necessarily  gone when he disappears. I am wondering if the so called glamor which normally makes fairies invisible is not in actuallity a spell but their natural state on this plane, and a spell or magical operation is required to create the conditions required to be visible to humans. It's clear in the classical writings I've come across that the general assumption was that fairies were normally visible and had to do a spell to be invisible. But, I am really thinking this is a falliicy caused by the assumption that they're just like us.

. He is also monitoring your sleep because your most psychically receptive period is just before falling asleep and just when you wake up. I find that interesting since he appears to be able to physically cross. It must take a great deal of his resources to do this and he's perhaps trying to make a difficult operation easier. But thats just a guess on my part.

I suspect he may also be using something to keep your startle reflex in check when you wake up.  Also don't be suprised if his size changes. He may go small to be less intimidating. Also if he has this level of magical ability, there's a fair chance he can shape shift. Watch animal behavior around you closely and carefully. You've heard my guesswork now.

It will be interesting to see what happens from here. Make sure to leave him treats daily.

Yes, I usually leave him jolly ranchers! Laugh As for his clothing, he typically wears all pink, as though he's trying to match the color of the feather he carries. You say he can change his size? That will be interesting!

That is so awesome that he is going out of his way to visit you and humans in general.   God love him!

And I loved how he said that– "and Why should I tell YOU my name!"     Don't worry, I would have asked him the same thing on accident as well- forgetting that the Faerykind are more careful in giving out their names than we humans are.

Next time you see him, you may want to tell him YOURE real name :-)      and then you may also ask him to give you a nickname he would like to choose for you also.    And that is very nice that you leave him Jolly Rancher Candies.

The cherry ones are my personal favorites by the way– they taste like raspberry..yumm!

Next time you see him, please tell him that some people online (me and bluefirephoenix, etc)   all send our hugs and love to him–  and we are honored that he is even visiting one of us humans.    Also , please tell him that Lisa Grey Eyes is praying for him and his people always (as well as this Earth too.

love

Lisa

Well thats interesting. It also tells me absolutely nothing. I'm laughing too because pink is about the only color that wouldn't give anything away. It has absolutely no esoteric meaning at all. I am wondering if it's  flamingo feather. Ok in any case he's not going to give away anything. Personally I think you should find out if Sidhe are ticklish.

I have a homemade oatmeal bread I usually use as an offering. Candy doesn't keep around here it literally disappears within a few hours. My other half has a sweet tooth that surpasses any I've ever seen.

And those who are Canadian will understand this the rest willl just have  wonder at the craziness. They also like Tim's donuts. My thought was oh no they've caught the disease too.  Understand that the people here will stand in line for a half hour for Tim horton coffee bypassing other less crowded coffee shops on the way. At work it's not unusual to have 30 people in line at Tims just to get a donut or coffee.

When I first immigrated here I shook my head and wondered why

We're not in Scotland  any more Dorothy.Surprised

Sidhe are…fairies?

yes  Sidhe is the irish spelling,  Sith is the Scottish..  Both are pronounced shee.   Fairy is seen  by some as a foward, direct and derrogative term which is the reason I generally try to avoid it.  Sith unfortunatly has been borrowed and the pronunciation  butchered by the Star Wars franchise.  The character of the people called by that name also maligned because of the portrail of the Sith as evil. They are called Doaine Sith here. It sounds kinda like Dunny Shee. ( The pronunciation guides have a slightly different sound than what I'm using)  I believe the Irish use both the term Doaine Sidhe and Tuatha De Dannon which is a specific clan.

Generally magic tradition is that if you hold the true name of a thing you hold power over it. It is the basis of the use of forced evocation in traditional grimiore magic.  Use of the word Fairy is generally avoided by those who hold that tradition because it creates the appearance of an attempt at forcing ones will by magic; an action which the Sidhe would resent. Words carry a great deal more meaing to them than they do to humans so I'm careful about what I say. I generally avoid the Scottish term though it would be my preference to use that because few understand what it means and the association with the movie characters is generally negative.  It is merely a difference in spelling and not in meaning or pronunciation. I try to be very emphatic about the respect I hold for these people so there is no misunderstanding. In truth I have a great deal of respect   okay …. really really strong respect for the power they hold and have no wish to  be the object of resentment over a misunderstanding over terms.

Wow that sounds amazing. There are so many different ideas of what a fairy looks like, from a small ball of light to an actual human being. I find it super exciting that you got to see such a clear image of an actual little person, let alone talk to him! Keep us updated :)

kingowing,  you know what ?    While I was out at the duck pond today saying Hi to the Faery there–   it occured to me that you may want to get a rose quartz stone –   a polished one, and place it out for " Plume" as a gift or token of friendship for him.     Rosequartz is a soft pink, and it's energy is very healing and comforting.

Tell him it is for him– even if he does not appear, he may hear you anyway.  Place it near his faery's cottage for him as a gift.     I think he will like it :-)   I know I would if I were a faery!

Rose quartz you can usually buy at a rock store. You can also buy jewlery made with it rather inexpensively at wally world ( walmart) or somewhere like that. I think that's an excellent idea and Lisa hit on the gemstone thing that does have esoteric associations. Roses also have the pink color so he may be associated with the flower if he's that type of Sidhe.  My wits have been slow from the stress and all.

Shape shifting under the posting I saw something wierd today I put what I have seen this week that could have been related to shape shifting actors.  It's a matter of knowning normal animal, bird and insect behavior so when you see something significantly out of place you pay attention to their behavior as well as plants.  I'll give an example

on this property when we moved here was a steel pasture fence. El cheapo fencing used foolishly for horses and cattle and notorius for catching their shoes and hooves. I've seen several mangled legs and ruined horses because of it.  The fencing was foolishly posted in spruce trees killing several and threatening a couple mature ones close to the house.  In hte areas where it is killing the trees it is covered with nightshade. The plants totally cover the steel. Nightshade grows sparsly throughout the rest of the property. I was concered about moving the nightshade to remove the fencing. It was thickest over the well composted manure pile and where an oak tree had been strangled to death by it.  I did not want to piss them off further by messing with their plants. But when I realized that the trees were threatened I decided to take a risk and hope the explanation and a few treats might help create the understanding that it was with good intentions, and that there would be  a whole garden of useful herbs and beautiful flowers with their help things woudl be better than before. So I started taking it down. WHen I started it was like there was  an overwhelming sense of relief and gratitude. The fence had been the problem to begin with and now it would be gone forever. The nightshade covering was an attempt at protection against the steel which interferes with their magic. Close to the trees gave them the best chance at helping the trees survive as long as possible.  Reading the signs accurately probably helped start a positive relationship with the Sidhe flower spirits that care for the plants and the standing people who dwell within the trees. ( standing people is a local name for a tree spirit they are tied to the tree some can communicate )

I just thought of another gift for plume he might enjoy one of those minuature rosebushes. I have heard that they take offence to cut flowers for decoration. But a whole flowering plant such as a minuature rose or if you don't have much light pink african violents might be well accepted.

Well, I do have a few flower pots, so I think I could plant some roses there! Thanks for the tips!

Roses need a certain soil arrangement that will help them stay alive when the light is lessened in the winter months. They need as much sun as possible. I was still able to grow them on a northern facing window and we only have about 6 hours of daylight in winter.( it will be about 5 where I live now) The bottom of the pot needs to have pebbles in it like kind used in an aquarium but not colored. Then it needs to have soil with some peat in it thats rich towards the top. They hate having their feet wet. Check the care for non tropical bonsia trees and that's simliar to what you do for roses except they want rich soil on top not akademia all the way through. African violets are easier to grow indoors and don't need as much light. I'll take a look next time I'm at a hardware store with a nursery for others. orchids are really nice but their care is specialized I have no idea how to take care of those but they smell fantastic if you get the right one. My indoor garden focuses more on herbs. The rose was given to me for valentines day 3 years ago and has been blooming ever since.

I forgot I use a 7 inch pot for the rose, but it will need a bigger one soon.  I don't cut roots on roses as I don't know how well it tolerates root pruning.

once you have the soil right they're not bad.  They like it a bit dry and they're fairly heavy feeders.  I've got a rare and endangered species of cacti that I'm growing from seed. out of about 70 seeds only 3 survived. after 6 months the seedlings are only a quarter of an inch across in size.  thats high maintenence.

Little roses is a great idea!

Also  you can find rose quartz beads (round or chip style beads) over at Walmart in their craft section, or any craft store.    Just check out the jewelry making /bead sections of the store.

They sell rosequartz beads in practically all of the craftstores.

Please tell Plume we send our love-   :-)

Lisa you just saved my life. I've been sitting here wondering what to do about the quartz stones. I use them on a regular basis and my source is now over 250 miles away. There are no stores out here that carry that sort of thing and the geography isn't such that I would be likely to encounter them.  Walmart and Michaels both carry them  for jewlery making and those are two of the 4 chain stores we have here.
