Now I dont remember if my memory is just foggy or if these were the same sounds I saw somewhere here or elsewhere before, but I remember reading a topic that discussed the unseelie, and in it there was a link to a paranormal show investigation where they heard the sounds of the unseelie. Today I was watching an episode of paranormal state on youtube which talks about these people being pretty much terrorized in their house by an inhuman being, and when a psychic/medium man went there he said that what he could see was that it was a half human, half animal being (kind of makes you think of oh, about 90% of the faerie community).
Anyway on part 2 of the video, the paranormal investigators are trying to communicate with it, and at one point ask for it to make a sound to let them know that it is there, then they hear something, and ask it to make another sound, then this huge burst of noises start to come out of the forest, sounding EXACTLY the way I remember the noises of the unseelie in that other video sounded like. So I would like for people to watch this video and tell me if my theory is correct.

The mentioned activity starts around 1:30 into the video

Yes, this is the same episode that we featured in our post "The Sounds of the Unseelie."
Hope that helps with your confusion…

Oh ok, sorry I did not know/did not remember it was the same episode that was shown in the post that I read in the past. At least it is nice to know that I am able to tell what the Unseelie sound like even though I originally heard the clip of their voices months ago.

I imagine you are right but this sound is the sound that a particular type of unseelie does make.

well if every kind of unseelie makes a different sound (which i imagine it does..) how will you know what u are hearing is unseelie and not just, well..the sounds of nature?
cos obviously if i knew i was hearing the unseelie i would walk away from it…but i wouldnt think twice about just natural sounds. and they both sound pretty similar at night.

I hope this is a valid question, but what do you mean by "a particular type of unseelie?"
Just wondering… exactly what you meant : )

Sure, it's a valid question, no problem….I'm going by what Mr E said in the original blog post:
NL: Did you hear enough to know what that is?
Mr E: Yes, I know exactly what that is. They are not very friendly creatures, they are a type of unseelie that lives in the woods–they are very savage creatures
NL: So, are they getting through the veil?
Mr E: They are either getting through the veil or they are somehow able to talk through the veil.
These are very aggressive creatures, they are very warring and they are very angry. They sound like they have been stirred up by something or someone. It’s as if someone has gone into the lion’s den and poked one of them with a stick-that’s basically the reaction you are hearing. This is the noise they make when they are very upset and they are going to retaliate in whatever way they can figure out to do it.
NL: I think this may have had something to do with misuse of the land, etc.
Mr E: I would definitely say yes, it is the unseelie. You know, as a small child, a wee child growing up elven, we are taught to avoid these creatures because we hear them all the time. “Oh, they’re upset about something in that direction, I’ll be riding off in this direction instead,” you know. You learn to respect them in a way…
NL: Like staying away from a hornet’s nest? So…they’ll be okay unless you do something to make them mad?
Mr E: Right, but it’s very easy to upset them, you know. They are also very intelligent and that makes it much more difficult to avoid them.
And, as far as being able to tell them from normal animal sounds, this really doesn't sound quite like anything else – it is sort of similar to coyotes but not entirely, I've listened to several clips of coyotes.

Ah, thanks! I read this, but… was just wondering anyways, just to be safe, make sure of what you meant. : )
Yes, I have coyotes behind my house… they can make some really strange noises, well, if you consider werewolvish sounds strange… because they seem to be more of singing, and the "unseelie sounds" sounds a bit more just… "creepy" and not like howls- if that makes sense. It sounds less like wolves at the beginning, unless i have unseelie back there too, who knows! not me!
but anyways, my whole point was to say "thanks" : ) haha
