Man I was just like you when I started out! I was terrified of seeing fae. It's because at this time you don't really know if they exist and so they fall into the catagorie of unknown and everyone is scared of the unknown. If they do scare you they'll retract a little before trying again the have no intention of hurting you AT ALL. once you get deeper in the fright will fade and then it'll be an everyday thing to here giggles from nowhere and flash of lights out of the corner of your eyes. I would tell them the truth the love it when humans are honest because in our culture lying is normal. tell them I'm not far into communicating and my human fears are keeping me from being open so please stick to my dreams instead of physical communication please? Just until I'm over my fear. And they will because they're such good creatures! Just keep coming on here and attracting them and you will get over your fear. It's hard because that's going against human nature.

I have yet to see a fairy myself, but I've heard both sides from other people, the majority of them have said that the fae emit a feeliing of safety and happiness, which stops their terror then and there. I've heard a few cases where they have been scared, but I think it really depends on what time of fae you meet. I don't think a fairy would show itself to someone who couldn't handle it, so I think if you were ever to meet a fairy it would be when you're ready and it would be a kind that only had good intentions.

No offense Faecat but man do you have the wrong idea about fae… They are NOT sunshine and giggles and they lie way better than humans. I suggest you read some old faery literature, like 1800's old. Why do you think there is the seelie and unseelie courts? Because there is WAR between them, I mean a real war like blood and death and gore. Even Mr E is involved in this war and had to kill before. And just because some fae are seelie does NOT mean they automatically like humans and want to be your friend. In fact VERY FEW of them give a hoot about humans, Mr E being one of them.
I suggest that if any of you see a faery, go with your gut feeling. If you don't feel threatened, if something doesn't seem off, then congratulations. It was probably curious and wanted to get your attention. No harm in that.
When I saw my first faery it was literally watching me from 2 ft away. It was REALLY curious. It even made physical contact with me. But I didn't feel uneased or scared in the slightest. I didn't get the feeling that it was angelic or anything, but it wasn't evil either. It was neutral, like a human. And since I was equally as curious, I remained calm and looked right back at it.
Fae are like us in a way, but they're much wiser because they live longer. So don't think for a second they can't be tricksters. And I don't mean in a playful, innocent way either.
Vicky, if you're scared then you're probably thinking about it waaaay too much. Relax. Let it be ;)

Well stellar I understand that. I don't think the fae are all sunshine and giggles and also that fae literature your talking about I HAVE read some, in fact I own a book and those bad fae are usually unseelie. Mr.E said so that the changlings were rare but mostly unseelie.

Stellar, in defense of Faecat, there actually ARE some Faery — mostly Pixies , i've been told by a faery intuitive expert that goes to our local Holistic Fair– who do get into happy moods like that where they will be extreemly giggly and want to party- This is one of their many moods. Don't get on thier bad side, however, as Hell has no fury than a Pixie or Faery scorned.
In certain accounts that I've studied in books and online, some people have heard mysterious giggles outside – oftentimes giggling coming from several unseen Beings– as though these small Beings are having a blast seeing the human's confused reaction toward them. Some have also heard mysterious music in wild places as well. I spoke with woman in her thirties over a year ago who is able to connect with a Troop of these Beings that hang out in the neighborhood her elderly mother lives at. She told me how at dusk, she was able to see a whole gathering of them flying about in the air and they knew she could see them- they were literally showing off in front of her. One of them asked her to come over and have some fun with them, but she mentioned that she'd rather watch — she was just too pooped out. She said thier energy is just awesome- they never tire out!
There are many kinds of these Beings- and some actually are spiritually inclined as the one Being that I was permitted to see 3 years ago. And there are nuetral ones as well like the one you saw–who are just like you or I. That reminds me, Can you re-post more about your encounter some time ? I never got a chance to read it– and in this forum we take all of these encounters very seriously. Faecat has shared some of her encounters in the past , including some dreams she had- Faecat, maybe you could repost your past dreams as well.
There are unseelie, negatively inclined Fae and Elven Beings too– an older co-worker of mine saw both kinds– When she was younger she encountered a pleasant happy woman faery sitting on a rose branch– she appeared for a few seconds then dissapeared. Later not too long ago, she was hiking in a wooded area and encountered some shadowy Being peeking at her from behind something- and she said this Being excuded pure evil. There are many humans lke that too- but sadly, because the Fae DO live longer than we do- many of them have way too much time on thier hands for the possibility to fall victim to the dark side. All it takes is an open door in their hearts for a little resentment and hate to come in before they eventually totally give up any light within them. It's far more easier to hate than to forgive.- and we humans give them tons of reasons to hate. This is why I am always praying for the Faery that they can rise above humanity and not let us get the best of them– Doing things to help them in Nature– picking up trash and all does help encourage them . I also pray for more and more humans to wake up, discover and learn to be co-workers and friends with these Beings.

@stellar i do agree there is some bad and good but i do not trust 1800 old literature because people blamed so many things on fairys some stories are possibly true like some scary stuff they say are mostly from the unseelie

That's what i meant dance! I had a horrible unseelie vision that stellar knows about because she has had the same thing happen to her. I just haven't had the bad beings that she has and have a more trusting out look on this. i guess because of the bad spirits you've had around you stellar your more cautious and aware of bad energy.

Faecat – I haven't had those dark entities around me for 10 years now. I think they were around because I was young, inexperienced and didn't know how to protect myself, so they saw that as an opportunity. Ever since I confronted them and showed them I could be powerful too, they've left and never came back.
Lisa – Sure. I am reposting my experience so you can read it. This was posted on January 30:
"When I was 22 years old (I'm almost 26 now) my husband and I were taking a walk outside. It was around 4 am and it started to rain. We went and sat under a shed, watching the rain while conversing. Then all of a suddenly out of nowhere, I heard a distinct whistle right by my ear, then felt something brush up against by hair. It all happened so fast I was startled. This "thing" was now hovering in front of us, checking us out in curiosity. It was about 4-5 inches big and had green dragonfly wings. We couldn't see a body… Just a pair of wings! I was in shock but I wasn't scared… I got a very good vibe from the creature… And I know for a FACT it wasn't an insect. Insects don't fly in the rain, and they certainly don't whistle like a person… And I know I wasn't imagining it cause my husband saw the same exact thing.
Anyway so after it hovered in front of us for a good few seconds, it slowly began to fly away into the woods ahead. Then it quickly disappeared from our sight.
Ever since the encounter, I've been trying to get as much information about the Fae as possible. Unfortunately there are a lot of fakes out there, claiming that they see faeries or talk to them… Sources can't be trusted. I'm a HUGE skeptic, I can't ever find myself to believe in something without solid proof. So far I know my experience was real, and faeries do exist."
It's true, I wasn't threatened in the least. Which is why I didn't run away or anything. I had a strong feeling it was just curious and wanted a closer look. Pixies are neutral in general, they could go either way. Almost all of them are playful pranksters though.
I don't believe that pixies look like Tinkerbell. I think they're more insect-like with humanoid features. A good example of a real pixie can be seen on the opening credits of the movie Spiderwick Chronicles.

I imagine it can be startling to see a fae show themselves in our world because it is still something out of the ordinary and we definitely have to pay attention to that.
I just saw one the other day, indoors in a doctors office of all places–probably there to cheer me up–and it was a small, brown butterfly shaped being that flew by and disappeared as I watched it. I was surprised at first but at this point something like that wouldn't actually scare me, probably just the opposite. Early on though, I'm sure I would have been amazed and a bit freaked out about it. :)

I was definitely unsettled when I first saw a faerie. I was also a child so while I was scared but fascinated at the same time. I think that children have a natural curiosity that allows them to move passed their fears even just a little bit. However, today, I still get surprised or scared when I see, hear or feel something. It especially scares me when I haven't been paying attention and something wants me to know it's there. It will surprise me in ways that I don't really like. I think I will always be unsettled by them but I've gotten semi-used to them coming and going every now and again.
