What I saw…

I've never actually told anyone about this before, so it feels good to be able to post it anonymously here.

When I was quite little, about 5 or 6 years old, I was out playing in the garden by myself when I spotted something moving in the hedge. When I went to have a closer look, I saw a tiny person, probably between 15 and 20cms tall. It didn't have any hair, and its skin was brown and wrinkly, with long limbs. I can't remember it having any wings, but it was sort of holding onto a butterfly that was fluttering its wings (it was the butterfly I'd seen moving – the creature itself wasn't moving at all, it was as if it were frozen.) I don't know if it was male or female, but I don't think it was wearing clothes. I tried to reach it but couldn't, so I ran to fetch my mum. She was busy doing something and wouldn't come, and when I went back the "fairy" had gone.

It's true that I was really into fairies when I was little, but I didn't have a vivid enough imagination to have imagined it, and it was very different to what I'd thought fairies looked like (I thought they all looked like Flower Fairies!). I'm 21 now and I am still interested in and believe in fairies (although this isn't something I ever admit to people who know me!). I know I saw one that day, and I hope so much that one day I get to see another. I'm not a superstitious person – I don't believe in ghosts and am agnostic when it comes to religion – but I am certain that I saw something "supernatural" that day.

Has anyone else seen something similar?

Hm, that fairy reminds me of the water folk I saw in one of my "dreams".

They had like a bronze color about them but instead of having legs, they had mermaid/mermen tails.

I also had one strange encounter when I was young.

Not sure how old I was but it was back in California and that is where my younger days were spent.

Anyways, I went towards my Papa's vegetable garden and I saw a pretty big caterpillar type creature…not like a big insect but like the size or a new born healthy infant.

It looked towards me and I got scared and ran off.

Back in Pennsylvania, I remember one night that I looked towards my window and a bright light filled the entirety of it. Not sure what is was…maybe a car light could fill an entire window like that. It was a regular sized bedroom window.

Anyways, I rarely think about those experinces but they are always fresh in my mind.

Haha, I will be 22 this month and I will always believe in the good folk.

phlox, welcome to Real Faeries first of all!

I  believe your encounter– I also saw a light cocoa brown Faery Being– thin and delicate bone structure and her head was the size of a dime- she also did not look like the faery stereotype you see in drawings, though I realize that there are many kinds of these Beings– some winged, some not winged, etc.

She had soft cocoa brown skin and her eyes had no irises as human eyes do–  but were totally all dark chocolate brown and slanted up a bit.   They were wide set and she had high cheekbones and high forehead, and delicate nose, mouth and chin.  She looked exquisite – but also had a sense of royalty and peace about her.   There was an inner light shining from her eyes-    As a Christian, I would say that God's Light was in her eyes, so she definitely was no evil entitiy of any kind..

Because of my encounter was of a Faery- , I am not free to share it with fellow Christians– but it just goes to show how we humans put limits as to other dimensions our Creator has created besides our own physical dimension.

This sounds just like me. I too am agnostic and dont have any evidence to believe in ghosts.

A lot of fairy encounters seem to be from a persons childhood, I'm assuming its because children have a more vivid eye to the supernatural.

You're lucky you have such a clear memory of it!

Theres a ton of helpful tips on here as to how and attract the fae.

Good luck :)
