I just wanted to share you some photos and a story about a caterpillar that I found.

 

I first found him on my parsley plant, and raised him into a butterfly. A week ago, he started to pupate, and yesterday the pupae changed colors. Earlier today, while going to check on it, I felt the butterfly emerged right before I opened the door. As I opened it, there stood the butterfly. It was amazing, as it took a long time crawling on me and my family,  and we were lucky enough to get many pictures.

This beautiful guy is now free , flying around happily. It was very exciting raising him, and I hope he decides to lay eggs on my parsley again , so I can relive the experience.

 

Also, for those who want to know, he was a Male black swallowtail.

i must also tell you that a wasp has died at this sacred time of celebration, the biggest wasp we have ever seen, it was lying on the sidewalk, we moved it over into the grass with a silent prayer, under a tree, that a heart was carved into long ago…

the bee had knees

was it some kind of sign? we are unsure

That's funny. That's my sister wearing it, not me although.  I might try planting milkweed next year to attract monarchs, or other plants to attract other species.
