Hello everyone :)

I wasnt really sure how much of a discussion topic this one but I thought I'd share my feelings.

Today in one of my classes, the teacher asked the class how many of us believed in psychics.

I must say how shocked I was to see that in the whole room only I, my friend beside me, as well as one other person but up their hand.

When the discussion began I was alarmed at how many people shot down psychics as liars and phonies. I dont let classroom discussions judge what I believe, but I cant emphasize enough how surprised I was in how few people believed in the psychic gift.

Another question was asked about whether or not people thought witches were real and still a part of our society. The result of believers was similar as with the psychics.

I just wanted to share my surprise with everyone! I guess on here everyone has the belief of the supernatural in common, but its a shame how few people still believe it in the ordinary society.

It was an English class. Do you think the type of class could perhaps affect how many people agreed on the possibility of paranormal beings?

I'll bet it was psychology. You always seem to get an odd mix from those people, fully believing fringe concepts or believing them to be complete bull.

I know back in high school my friend's psych class had a special presentation from a local woman who claimed she was psychic and could see auras. The teacher was very vocal about being forced to indulge the "delusional woman going through a mid-life crisis".

Then when I took psych 101 I ended up getting stuck with a professor who constantly stressed New Age beliefs when lecturing on the material and took session time to have us watch "What the **** do we know".

Edit:

Opps, never mind.

Depends on where you live. For example the United States is much more superstitious and open to fringe concepts than people tend to believe.

There might have been some peer pressure going on there, too. Like, maybe some people who weren't as brave as you and your friend were thinking to themselves, "Maybe I sortof believe, or I'm not sure,  but if nobody else in this class believes and I raise my hand then they might think I'm weird." I think that kind of thing tends to happen a lot. But I've found it's amazing how, when you talk quietly to people one on one by themselves, how many of them have some kind of ghost story to tell, or a UFO sighting, or something they wouldn't admit to the world at large for fear of being thought crazy or something.

Don't be too discouraged. :) There are more believers, or at least people with open minds, than it might appear.

@Nick: Wow, that teacher in your friend's psyche class was acting in a pretty arrogant way. Even if you disagree with someone's views, that's no reason to attack them personally. :/

I'm actually taking a psychology class as well. You bring up a good point, "psychos" as we jokingly call the people in the class may have a different opinion, judging by what they've learned. I live in Canada, so I'm sure they have a lot of influence from the United States right next to us. It would be interesting to google.

Having a bit of trouble with the new Real Fairies layout, cant quite figure out how to quote and reply to multiple posts at a time :P

Anyways, you bring up a good point as well Athidal!

The friend I made in that class is really interesting to me in my opinion, she was the first person I've met in a while that expressed herself in such a way that I felt myself feeling comfortable enough to ask if she believed in the fae, which she claimed that she did, and had a very interesting opinion on the topic.

Shes a very confident person, and I admire that in her. As soon as the question was asked she raised her hand right away, without scouting out the room to see if anyone else had raised their hand first.

I think the problem is that not everyone is as self confident and reassured as this girl, so there very well could have been more beleivers who were to embarassed to state their views, whether its a strain on their reputation or who knows what else.

Hi JollyRancher!

Love to all, but people of the Modern World and Humanity have become very disconnected, many arent blessed with thinking/feeling/and seeing how we do! Its simply a different stage of consciousness , and you happen to be on one that enables you to understand the mystics and truths. One day they will understand, they are in the process of learning. Your vitality and energy is what brings joy to the world, so show people truth through you! ~ Concentrate on focusing on your believes and goals, and sticking to like minded people for support :) I feel so happy to connect with people who are on the same consciousness as I am (or around there at least), try and search locally for meditation groups or connections with people who share your feelings/thoughts! And know that you have support from fellow Earth brothers, sisters, and of course… the Faes :)

This is also what I believe the "shift" is ~ helping humanity and people of the modern age be reminded of our roots, truths, and all that is natural and healing. We must help humanity/people to reduce their devotion/obsession towards technology, media, and materialism for it was all taken advantage of and is distracting, for it only takes away from God, Nature, Knowledge, and Peacefulness. We must encourage all that is natural and loving, be supportive and thankful of our Mother Earth, and come together in unity. Keep shining your light, and encouraging others by always standing up for what you believe. Even if they disagree, believe in yourself and what you stand for. This is a power that no one can ever rid you of, and a gift that allows us to be confident and strong!

Blessings and Love *

Merfairie is right. I believe that we will have a strong judgement and friendship with the fae since we sent out our love already once the veil lifts. Those people aren't aware that they are dormant psychics, we do and we are trying to get from where we are to what we should be. I'm sorry about how those people talked about your beliefes, my moms the same way, but just think of their shock once the veil lifts and they see all the fae's and they expect you to act the same way but we'll all be dance and singing to fae music and acting like it's normal. I think that will be funLaugh!

I agree Faecat.

I hear people putting down psychics all the time. I guess not only are they shut down and closed minded but there are a lot of fake psychics out there. I know I've run in to my share.

Not all of them are crooks but a lot of them think that they are psychics and they are not.

So people think that they are all fake.

I was so happy when John Edward was a guest on Dr. Oz earlier this year and he proved that he is for real. He has been accused for years of being a fake. Even Dr. Oz was impressed!

So, I'm hoping that the human race will experience a huge spiritual evolutionary leap precipitating the lifting of the veil.

We believe and we believe in eachother and are here to support each other. And more and more people are joining us. So the believers are out there, they may just feel alone and afraid to admit their beliefs.

Hugs!

Oh I couldn't agree more with Merfairie … It's so nice to find others of a like mind.  Also, I think you would be surprised about just how many believe in pychics but don't want others to know….  And another way to see that is the popularity of such shows as Ghost Adventures and other ghost stories shows.  People are just so hungry for something that is "real" and I believe it's an awakening of the soul…..so many are soul sick in this modern society.  I know that the fairy realm exists as well as a multitude of other mystical realms.  It's really very simple but so hard to absorb … LOVE is all there is … there is just one.  Anyway, that's what I feel, others have to find their own way.  Love and Light and All Goodness,  ArtSings Kiss
