How to make essential oils

I recently read about making essential oils, as I want to also. Anyway, I felt like sharing, so here is how to make essential oils :

Take a bottle, which you will place your oil in, and clean it out. It is important to clean it well, so fungus or bacteria does not develop in the process.

Place the plant leaves, flowers ,buds or even roots in the bottle. Wash the leaves before using it, as well and make sure they are clean.

Fill the bottle with carrier oil. Fill it so all the leaves are covered with it.

Wait a couple days, or weeks depending on the plant. To make sure it is going well, try smelling it once and a while.

Shake well every 12 hours.

Tips :

Choose your carrier oil well. Some carrier oils are thick, and are

harder to use. Others are light and absorb easily. My favorite is canola

oil, since it absorbs fast, is easy to get, scentless and it doesn't go

bad easily. Grape seed oil and Sweet almond are also the same.

For those who do not know which carrier oil to use, check this link :

If you scroll down, it will show you a list, and press the name for the properties.

Every oil, with the exception of lavender and tea tree oil , needs to be diluted before use.

Here are some uses of the oils :

There's a woman on youtube named charmingpixieflora who does a lot about essential oils. She has a lot of recipes if you want to check it out.

Your welcome. I want to use lemonbalm and spearmint in my yard to make a natural mosquito repellent. Plus, lemonbalm is also good for treating the bites, so it repels mosquito and treats mosquito bites. It also helps that since they are oils, they are good for your skin, and you don't have to worry about them getting in your eyes, or mouth, as they aren't too strong or bad for you.

I can also use sage for cleansing spray, and maybe chamomile and lavender if I plant them next year.

This is something I have always wanted to try doing! Perhaps I will try it soon. First I need to buy canola oil. :P

Here's a better link with more carrier oils and properties. Try choosing one for your use, and the essential oil you are using.

wow, thats pretty easy, may as well get to making some potions, potions are key in the world, thats what my friend, an old shaman keeps telling us, potions, trees, the druid walkabout, lol its all quite fascinating, something about how worlds are created or linked, there is a certain way to it, but its extremely complex… takes the combination of working with the herbs and philosophizing about it all, and meditating of the sigils to really understand, have comprehension of how its all peiced together, you start to see magical things… this might be going a bit fast, something about doing this kind of stuff though is good, collecting herbs, learning about them, and planting them yourself if you can, helping them grow, learning whats local whats not, tuning into the ecosystem around you, and making oils and stuff, the good kind, not the bad, its all good signs, healers have always done it, seems simple but its a spiritual process

dedicated to the authentic practice of fooly cooly
