Hallo!
I am totally new here and had to join before I could read any more than a few of the topics on Real Fairies.
It makes me incredibly happy that there is a community somewhere that shares my beliefs about Fae.
As a child I believed firmly in fairies and magic and my first encounter with a magical creature (a unicorn) merely strengthened that belief. Despite the fact that once you reach the age of ten it is frowned down upon to be a believer; to the extent of using public humiliation (something I, as a teenager, am very experienced with) to quell the avid belief that fairies and magic exist. Though, seemingly to my undying devotion to the fae, I have had encounters with a Unicorn, a wood nymph, a troll, and countless garden fairies. So it must exist.
Anyway, thanks for reading. I look forward to many wonderful conversations with the community of Real Fairies.
Credendo Vides,
Spinner

Thank you!
I suppose it wasn't so much as "met" fae. More like seen and accepted them. I've only ever addressed the wood nymph I saw. So sight is the basis of my interactions.

So nice to meet you :D I hope you feel welcome and at home here. Now c'mon, you have to tell us about your unicorn experience :D When I was younger, the movie "Nico the Unicorn" changed my life and set me off on a journey to find magick, so the creatures hold a very special place in my heart (though I've never met one).

I know you; I walked with you once upon a dream.
I know you; The gleam in your eyes is so familiar a gleam.
Yes, I know it's true that visions are seldom all they seem.
But if I know you, I know what you'll do.
You'll love me at once, the way you did once upon a dream.

Welcome Spinner. I've never sensed a unicorn, and I'd also like to know more about that experience. I would love to know more about all those other experiences you had!

Kk. Here's my unicorn experience. Its one of the most memorable moments of my life so far, understandably. And now that I’m writing it down it seems so improbable. But here goes.
Many, many, years ago when I was 6/7ish I was riding in my parents vehicle out in the middle of nowhere Arizona. There wasn't really a conversation going on and I was just kind of staring out the window. But something caught my attention on the other side of the car so I looked out the opposite window and I didn't glance I quite honestly looked and there was this beautiful fairytale unicorn (quite literally cliché fairytale, white unicorn with a silver w/ bronze highlights mane, tail, and hooves) galloping next to us. It never occurred to me to tell anyone else in the vehicle I just kind of watched it for several minutes. And I remember feeling just perfectly calm, relaxed, and just plain content with everything. Even thinking about it now I get this feeling of everything being alright.
I know it doesn't sound like much and it certainly doesn't seem like the kind of place you would see a unicorn but I swear the I did.
As for the other experiences I saw a troll holding his thumb like he was hitch-hiking out at a stoplight in Colorado. He was pretty cool looking and was camouflaged as a stump but he was too green for that. Although he did have a lot of similarities to a tree stump.
The wood nymph I saw when I was walking between my house and my parent's studio in middle of nowhere az. He was this little tiny ancient looking thing all hunched over with a waling stick and I almost didn't notice him but he made the mistake (or else he intended me to see him) of moving before he was out of my peripheral vision so I stopped and actually took the time to look at what I had originally thought was just a small chunk of wood. As it turned out this piece of "wood" was a nymph that I almost completely walked past.
Ummmm. .. Those are the main fae experiences I've had.

That sounds abso-*bleeping*-lutely awesome I hope you continue to have experiences like those.
When I was younger I used to always see a unicorn running alongside my schoolbus or car – but I'm sure it was more imagination than a second sight. Either way, it filled me with a sense of wonder that I seem to have lost and miss dearly:/
Have you ever spoken to any of the fae beings you've seen?

I suppose that's possible. And that it could have been my imagination. But I don't think so. Because before then and to this day I have never recreated the feeling of peace that accompanied the image. Nor have I ever imagined anything that was so 3D that I could actually see it and not see through it.
I don't usually speak to the Fae I see. I feel it would be too presumtuous of me to think that they actually want to hear what I have to say. I feel blessed that the creatures are willing to let me see them and I'm sure they'd talk to me if they really desired to.
Although, I just remember another "fae" experience with a creek up in Co. I didn't actually see the spirit/whatever it was that inhabited the creek but I was just hanging out and opened myself up to the world and the water "spoke", a.k.a. telepathically sent the message, that even though it enjoyed being called Willow it wanted me to refer and address it as Laughter. Or at least that was the message I got. But I don't think the telepathic message actually used the word "laughter" and more of the feeling of laughter that cannot be expressed through the English language but for lack of a better description laughter must suffice.
