Hello everyone…I was referred here by my girlfriend, faerie_firbolg…..
Before last March, I did not believe in fae. My mother was a medicine woman on the Cherokee reservation I grew up on. I could always see ghosts and spirits. I could talk to them, and I knew they were there. I could see them there. But there was something else…but I'm scared to talk about it…I don't want to be left behind or judged…
I knew there was something else out there, but I didn't know what.At least not until I started seeing and channeling them.
Last year, my girlfriend and I started to hang out and started dating. Things started to get really…weird….I really don't know what to say to everyone…I'm scared of judgement and being turned away or told that I am crazy or psycho or anything like that…everything is so…bizarre… I'm afraid I can't talk about everything, even here…
I see and channel fae. And I don't exactly have control over it. But I don't mind it so much.
Together, we have anywhere from 5-12 fae at any given time. All of them are gentry, and all of them play an important role in our lives now. I would talk more, but I am so scared of everyone…
Our fae talk to us about themselves, about their history, about the future….and so much more….
I do want to say, it is very nice to meet you all! ^__^

I love this place :D
You should deffinitely listen to Mr. E, and read all of the blogs if you haven't already.
I could direct it to you, if it confuses you… I know, because when I first joined, it was a tad confusing lol
But, it's really awesome here. You'll deffinitely learn a lot, and everybody
here is pretty much understanding, and we share our experiences sometimes on the forum,
or on the chat, and it's nice to talk to other people that actually know what's going on out there : )

I really appreciate your warm welcome! It is very nice to talk to people who know what they are talking about, know what we are talking about, and are less likely to think you crazy.
I think this universe is way to large for there to be only this plane, and it is very obvious with the large fae in my apartment. O.O

First the bizzareness I getcha. I'm suprised your mother didn't warn you about this. It's not exactly something you can talk about. This tends to run in families. Many believe these spirits are ancestoral and we're a mixed race of a couple different species not all of which live on this plane. If she is a shaman she can help you learn to control this and deal with the bizzare effects on your life that you cannot avoid. Unfortunetly our society seems to work on the presumtion that this doesn't exist, is abnormal or is evil. These kinds of encounters are none of this and are necessary to what you've been called to.
I would ask them before posting anything on here. This can be read by anyone and the inhabitants of the otherworld tend to be a very private group. You have a large group there. Usually these sort of contacts are smaller groups of 3-4 individuals with occasional contact with a couple more. Usually getting swamped like that is due to neglect of the spirit on part of the human and when someone in their clan finds their abilities and opens the door they get clobbered with requests and demands. It's a problem more so with European descended peoples who have been christianized for a long time. I would suggest having one leader talk to you and work with you and delegate and prioritize the work that they want done on this plane. It's important to maintain any purification rituals you've been taught and do so on a regular basis as this tends to attract all kinds of attention. Usually they eventually pick a leader to do this anyway but I would encourage the process along. It makes it smoother and less disruptive to you life. Don't be afraid to set your foot down and insist on some alone time or time to get things done for them. They can run you right off your feet if you let them run roughshod over you. Delegate a certain number of hours a day or days a week for their work. Stay in charge of your life. You have tasks you need to do here too and some don't match up with what their goals are.

Hello and welcome. Don't be scared, we won't judge you. This is the only place we can all openly talk about our beliefs in the fae, among other stuff. What we can't normally talk about to others, we talk about here. This is what Real Fairies is all about. We're not going to judge you or think you're crazy… We're very open minded people and we all respect each other. I believe that what you're going through is very real. You're lucky to have such a close connection to the fae. When you are ready, please do share your experiences, because everyone will be interested. I know I'm looking forward to it :)

We are very aware of the reasonings our fae are here, and entirely greatful for it. They come here and they tend to stay here, but there are plenty who come and go. Our 'resident' fae present themselves boldly, and demand the attention of the three of us who live there.
Our fae are very flamboyant, and it becomes hard to ignore them. They have already told us that they are here to stay, regardless of what we do for them. They have specific requirements for us, especially me, and I have learned to accept it. They are not simple requests and demands, and they are not exactly optional. These fae are my life, and I am eternally greatful for them. They are actually the ones who perform rituals for us, warding our apartment and keeping out the "bad" fae and spirits. I am not going to complain. :)
They have been here for a year now, telling me and my girlfriend and our room mate our roles in their society, telling us about our past lives, about themselves and their pasts, about the fae, about everything really. The first fae I channelled was Raven (as I will call him here), and it was a form of full body possession. All of our fae do it, to make it easier for those who can't see them like I can. It was terrifying in the beginning, but after putting up with it for a year, I have learned to read the attitudes of my fae and learned to understand what they want when they want it. Like a mother to her baby. I don't always remember what happens when I channel them, but Valor had explained to us something called "half-in-half-out", which is like a method of "ventriloquy". Very little do I not remember, but usually when Raven gets in, I don't remember anything usually unless he is feeling particularly generous.
I don't think it was so much about not being informed, as it was that the fae never really bothered us before so much.
I think I will eventually open up a bit more, but I am still scared. Apparently it is not common for people to 'channel' fae, let alone see them in the corporeal form that I do. I have always been that way with my ghosts, but I can do it with fae too. I am scared that because it is not so common, it will be shut out and shunned. I'm scared that I am alone.

Channeling is actually the most common method of spirit communication. It's used extensively in African based religions espcially in the Carribean. It's an ability that allows direct intervention of the spirit using the mediums body and traditionally was used in healing, divination and other types of rituals. I can do channeling but it is not my preferred method of working with spirits as there are significant limitations and unless the medium can totally withdrawl, the spirits message can get garbeled with his/her subconscious. It takes siginficant training to learn to do this as well as a high level of trust. I generally prefer invocatory/evocatory workings as it only requires one person to operate and I find it to be more accurate.
If you do some reading and outside the immediate area of the sidhe then you will find much more information. I would suggest looking through Nordic and Celtic sacred writings and maybe do some reading on Voodou, Santeria, and Palo Mayombe You'll see this is a fairly universal things and the methods of contact and working with these entities differs slightly from culture to culture, but there are more commonalities than differences. This includes the description of the fae. It varies slightly but you can see it's the same thing easily enough
Usually one of two things happen with a channeler. The spirit comes in wipes the channeler out you have no memory of the event. Supernatural abilities are sometimes displayed. Knowledge of a foreign langauge, ability to heal, supernatural knowledge. Partial posession will result in partial ablities and is more common with untrained mediums.

The couple of times it happened to me I could not tell the difference between being there physically and the astral experience. One was a meeting at the place where I work and I was trying to figure out why the heck I was in the parking lot when I was the last I remember in bed. I felt pain, cold, wind, It wasn't until I saw the spirit who was now a solid looking man standing near the ED entrance that I realized I was journeying. I get this joy about 4 times a year. I actually don't mind except it is really unnerving because your there and you can't tell that it's not physical and things are happening that should never happen when your physical.
The more you know the better you can learn. When I had my first contact I was terrified. It was very unexpected and I had no knowledge or understanding of what happened. With study and work I was not only able to loose the fear but develop in such a way that it was helpful to both sides.

Well I am surprised you feel alone. While it is true that it isn't exactly common here for people to be able to see fae considering that you grew up on a reservation it isn't tpp surprising. After all the stronger the belief is the thinner the veil becomes in that area. As such it would make sense that a culture as spiritual as the Cheeroke would have seeing and speaking fae become a common thing. Just remember what you can do is what many here work very hard to achieve. I would not hold on to being scared especialy on this website. If though you are uncomertable speaking on the forum you can pm someone or not say anything at all. I just hope that you are able to find what you need to open up a bit on here.

Fergot to post the sites http://www.sacred-texts.com/ Look under icelandic and go to the Eddas and Sagas. The Poetic eddas contain quite a bit of info particularly on elves and the Sagas have practical magical knowledge particularly rune magic. Under Celitc read Wentz's material to start. The Welsh is the least Christianized. Much of the Celtic lore was lost but the scandinavian had a great deal of influence. There were even temples devoted to Scandinavian dieties in Ireland ( Thor was huge there) I don't know how much of your own nations' tradtions you know but it would be good to really know that well. There is a good section on Greek elves that was just added too.

I guess it came from experiences with people who said they could handle what I can do, and then saying: "I'm sorry, I can't help you" and leaving when I needed help. I think my shyness and fright comes from that. But I will give it my best shot, and I will post what I am allowed to post by my fae. :)
I am already starting to open up, and it is so weird to actually do that. It is not often I can find comfort talking about what I can do.

When I channel fae, I don't channel them the way mediums usually do. It is a full body possession, and I allow them to walk on the human plane by using me as their vessel. They can do anything we can do, from walking and talking to people and humans to watching tv or learning to play a video game.
I can't see them in the mind's eye or wait for them to arrive in a dream. They are just there. It can be very terrifying, but I am not as scared anymore.

So it is slightly like astroprojection? I have never done that before, nor have I tried. It sounds interesting, like being pulled from one plane onto the other.
I see both realms simitaneously, so I am not sure what it looks like from one point of view. Everything to me is like an overlay, or some sort of strange, mirrored world. :/ Are you able to see their plane or is it like you are in their place in this plane? I understand the 'spirit-like looking in', but I am curious as to what it looks like since everything is warped to me.

I concur with JollyRancher36, we are all here to learn as much as we can about the fae. Anything you might have to share will be taken as new information and be cherished – we're not going to react the way you expect us to react. We aren't going to judge and shun you. Anything we learn about the fae is of GREAT value to us, because it helps us understand them better, which is the one thing we all have in common here. We all want to feel closer to the fae, help them, work with them, and possibly even be one with them some day.
I personally feel scared to be judged too, when it comes to this. That's why I never talk about my belief in the fae with anyone other than my husband, who has seen them too, the only person I can confide in. If I talked about it casually to others they'd think I'm a nut case. That's why I come here, because I can freely express that side of me, without any fear of judgment. Susan, one of the creators of this site, channels the fae too. We are all used to Mr. E's channelling thru Susan's body, and reading/listening to his interviews, so this is not a new concept to us. Don't be afraid to open up…

I just read one of your topic, it was interesting. Be as open as you want too, members here love to hear about fairies. Were here for that, whether we encounter them before or never, like me (I'm like Gosh, I want to have a fairies buddy, but I'm afraid too. It's like they can see everything about you).

Hello! Thank you everyone!
I am feeling confident enough to actually post what I want to, so long as my fae are okay with it and approve of it. Nevermore has been with me the longest out of all 14 of our residents, and because of that, I trust him the most to be able to communicate with everyone here. I have given him permission to do so.
I apologize to everyone for making him hide himself, and be aloof, but it was because I was worried about actually revealing him due to previous experiences with people and our fae.
Now that I know it is okay, and I am assured, I am looking forward to making this a home for us! :D
My (our) fae channel through us by possessing us, in a full body possession. They can do whatever a human does by controlling our bodies. Doing this, they can also establish relationships, do what they want, learn from us, and so much more. Nevermore was the first fae that has ever done this to me.
I see fae the way I see humans. I can see them solid, and I can touch them. I don't have to channel them, but I do want to allow them to do what they want with this plane, because they can not physically touch our things for long periods of time without using a lot of magic or taking it back with them. It is easier this way for both parties.
I will admit, it is very very odd to see these men (and two women fae) hang about in our daily lives. It gets crowded very easily, but it is not too difficult to deal with. I take it in stride, day by day, learning everything I can from them. But I still feel like I know nothing. No matter what they tell me, there is always something that I feel is missing.
Maybe that is just because of recent events taking place in the past five months, I don't know. I do know that now I don't feel like I have to keep everything inside. ^__^ I feel like I have new friends that I can talk to outside of us who will listen and let me get it out.

I was told by Nevermore and Valor, that I can see them because I walk in both planes. Like, half in a mirror and half out. I think that is the best way to describe it. :/ They found it interesting, and so now I have permanent residents here.
According to them, this is the reason I can see them, as well as ghosts and spirits so well. They say it could be because my fae soul is ready to go back, but I'm stuck in a human shell.
I really don't know, and the way they explain it makes it confusing for me. I always figured it was just because of my mother and passing it to me, but even she never saw anything the way I do.
It wasn't until I met Ashy that I realized that it wasn't normal for me to see things this way. Does this make me a freak? :(
