Hello fellow readers of real fairies forum. For a number of months i have visitd the site and read through as many posts as i can on the forum. I live in Ireland and was a little wary of joing the forum. Its something i rarley do anyway but after reading through some of the posts i can see that there is a really lovely sense of community here. Forums can sometimes be inhabited by individuals who enjoy making comments to belittle others, but this is obviously not the case. It was a bit of a relief to come accross this site. In ireland we have a very rich culture of folklore, mythology and legends so i was always enthralled with idea that we shared this world with unseen entities. in my family line the females have always been considered to have a form of second sight which i beleive means we are just very in tune with our surroundings and with peoples emotions. so much so that at times we need to step away from social interaction for a day or two just to give ourselves a break. nearly all of the females in my own family and on my mothers side have had one or other form of shall we say 'unusual happenings' seeing / hearing or feeling spirits, dreaming events before they happen or dreaming/ sensing when a family member or firnd are in troubleor need help. i have also always had a deep connection with nature from a young child i felt painand distress when confronted with pollution, cruelty and destruction of natural hobitats or animals. These feelings although always there have become much stronger in recent years. i spent time in south america a few years ago which i think contributed to this.
in may of this year my boyfriend was away for the night and as i was preparing for bed i had a feeling of not being alone in my attic bedroom. all of sudden these beautiful sparks started appearing in my field of vision. i was not asleep i was wide awake and the sparks were different coulours and for all teh world looked like little fireworks. except though i could see the sparks i felt that they were not physically in the room. i was very tired and although i was aware that some enity was trying to get my attention i asked them to please leave, asked my angel (yes i believe in guardian angels too) to watch over me and proceeded to close my eyes where for some reason i could still see the sparks exploding all over the place. evetually i fell into a sleep and woke up refreshed but with a full recollection of teh night before. now my first though was not faeries but over the next few days the idea of faries kept popping up in my head. and all of a sudden nearly everywhere i wnet there was something to do with the fae i even met a lady who although has never seen any fae belives fully in them. this happens to me a lot and it rarely co-insidence so pulled out all the books on the faerie relm which i had inadvertedly collected a large collection of over the years. i also started checking a few sites which is how i came accross real faries. In teh last few weeks i am having recollections from childhood and adluthood which make me think teh fae have been trying to reach me for some time and i havent realised it. i so happy to have found this site its such a diffult thing to share with people as im sure you have seen the 'your a crazy lady' look people can give. even those who love find it difficult to understand. so thats my introduction its a pleasure to be part of your forum. If anything further occurs i will keep you posted. x Danu – now a believer

Danu, welcome to Real Faeries!
Those sparks you saw definitely were the Faery or Pixies. I've seen a pink sparkly light fly about our yard- and then over our apple tree , and then also up near our living room ceiling when I was playing music for the faery upstairs.
They really do seem to want to get your attention- and probably they want you to try to connect with them.., so I'ts good that you found our forum here!
Welcome and I look forward to your future posts !

Thanks everyone for the words of welcome.
Jollyrancher -It is a pretty name although its not my birth name! In Ireland theres is a mythological race called the Tuatha de Dannan or the people of the godess Danu. it is from these people that many of the Irish Sidhe are supposed to have come from or married into. There are many interetsing legends of this race. My nickname is Danu she is an Irish Godess or Mother of the Earth in Irish Cultures. For many years she was revered as belssing our fertile land and rivers.
As for my female relatives and I , i dont think we have any special gifts that every person dosent already have, but because our family is so open about it; its just easier for us to tap into physic and emotional bonds that are already in our family. Its nice when i'm feeling a bit down my sisters or mum usually sense it and give me a call to see how im doing and visa versa. My dad (although a little more closed minded) has also exprienced it once when one of my siblings was in serious trouble and was able to intercept and stop a potential tradegy just based on a feeling. no one was more shocked than he was at the time, especially as it happened in the middle of the night while he was sleeping.
