Hello. I live in the desert, and I was wondering about how hard it would be to find fairies around here. Although there are a few plants here and there, there's not many. I could go camp down at a certain mountain relatively close to me that has a spring, and a lot of trees, but that's still quite a bit far from where I am. So I was wondering if there are any types of fairies that like the desert, and reside there.
I don't see that many flowers either. I'm guessing that some fairies would be attracted to cactus flowers. (And then again, that's hard to find too)

They're called djinn when they live in the desert. They're tough to get to know, much more secretive. You cannot have other's around when you try to work with them need to be out of sight of other humans. What is associated with plants are flower sprites, they're okay but if you want to learn stuff then the djinn are the race you have to work with. Google around there's lot's of info on them once you weed through the gaming stuff try djinn and evocation.
I think they're solitary spirits. They don't come into human houses. plant devas are okay, but most people cannot see them. Roses would probably be the best plant to have around for them. You don't have to attract them they're already there. Just have to be able to see them. They're only active when the plant is green and growing. They'll tell you about the plant they're the spirit of and they're nice but as far as learning much no.
I think Djinn are nocturnal, they can teach you about the plant devas in the desert too.

Thank you! =]
I'm looking up about them now. So far I've read that they're commonly referred to as genies.
(which is interesting sense I was just thinking about Genies out of nowhere not too long ago)
Although a lot of people seem to think the Djinn are usually very dangerous. Hmm..

If I recall correctly, djinn and efreet are generally associated with the deserts in the Middle East. If you're in the American southwest, you might want to check into Native American legends about kachinas and other hidden people.

Djinn is just an arabic word for faeries… Djinn is not a type of faerie, it's all faeries in general.
There are faeries/djinn everywhere, I'm sure.

But, anyways, there are fae everywhere.
Some just might not be around at that moment. : )
But, I'm sure there are fae there…

Well as there are humans that have adapted to many envirments there are Fae that have also adapted to many. I would think that even in the desert one could meet the Fae.
