Ok I'm reposting this from the Elder form to the Types of fairies section. I want to know about giants and why they never seem to be brought up. Also I left so rocks in my backyard for the gnomes but the didn't seem to like them. Do you know why?

Maybe giants are so big we never notice them? Sort of what we must look like to insects? Also, being so huge it must take much more effort to cross the veil or become visible.

I also think they're left out because they don't have the same appeal (to the majority of people) as beautiful fae, or delicate pixies, etc. Humans have a really narrow view of what is beautiful and desireable in things we take up interest in :(

Very good point-    even artists who paint the faery basically always paint FEMALE faeries and you hardly ever see any paintings of male winged faeries–  yet both male and female exist. 

I think Brian Froud does paint a good mix of all kinds of faery beings–    the Being I saw had eyes similar to his male pixie paintings (I found out later AFTER my encounter)   only thing was her eyes were more softer and tilted up more.

Every Being is beautiful in his/her own way–     if you read my Elven Being encounter I posted in the Encounters section-you'll notice that the elven being mentioned in the post that one person encountered as a child was not exactly handsome by human standards- but he still could tell that this being had a good heart!
