A while back, I was watching an episode of Paranormal State titled “Shapeshifter” which included a segment where they captured some very unusual sounds from a woods in Maine. On the show, they concluded that the sounds were possibly related to entities known to Native Americans as “coyote the trickster” which could easily be their version of unseelie. I had Mr E look at the episode today and here’s our conversation where he gives us his impressions:
NL: Did you hear enough to know what that is?
Mr E: Yes, I know exactly what that is. They are not very friendly creatures, they are a type of unseelie that lives in the woods–they are very savage creatures
NL: So, are they getting through the veil?
Mr E: They are either getting through the veil or they are somehow able to talk through the veil.
These are very aggressive creatures, they are very warring and they are very angry. They sound like they have been stirred up by something or someone. It’s as if someone has gone into the lion’s den and poked one of them with a stick -that’s basically the reaction you are hearing. This is the noise they make when they are very upset and they are going to retaliate in whatever way they can figure out to do it.
NL: I think this may have had something to do with misuse of the land, etc.
Mr E: I would definitely say yes, it is the unseelie. You know, as a small child, a wee child growing up elven, we are taught to avoid these creatures because we hear them all the time. “Oh, they’re upset about something in that direction, I’ll be riding off in this direction instead,” you know. You learn to respect them in a way…
NL: Like staying away from a hornet’s nest? So…they’ll be okay unless you do something to make them mad?
Mr E: Right, but it’s very easy to upset them, you know. They are also very intelligent and that makes it much more difficult to avoid them..
Here is a brief clip taken from Paranormal State with the sound of the unseelie on it:
Note: I know there are varying opinions about the validity of Paranormal State in general but I do think the sounds they recorded were genuine.

That sent shivers down my spine. They sound very upset, almost like they are angry and mourning something. I hope I never hear that again.

Mr E, do they look wolfish? I can picture a creature with 4 legs and grey fur. And its eerily familiar.
yikes! It does sound like that to me also- The Unseelie can not be happy – I don't care what kind of Being a person from any dimension is, but when you take the side the Unseelie take, you are not at peace. Also, you are so hate driven that you want to provoke others to claw them down to the same level you are at.
It reminds me of that documentary I saw recently about the trickster shape-shifter beings in the desert regions–where the Navajo Indians live. They can imitate any animal or human voice, as well as change into different animals. The small minority of indians that practiced dark magic summoned them alot but these beings are still around killing animals and fooling people to this day.
Natalie, thanks for sharing this conversation with us — please tell Mr. E that prayers are going out for him and the group of 8 over there– from the unseelie.
hugs
Lisa

I played this to Steven and he didn't know what to think. He said it was creepy and he'd be freaked out if he was ever in the woods and heard it! Usually nothing much fazes him!

Don't you think that sounds like a rather unseelie kind of remark? It sounds like you want a fight.

I think He only wants to know how to fight back, if He ever meet 'em.
IMO, It isn't sounds so creepy, rather amazing, for me. But I don't wanna hear it in the wood. ;P
Thanks, Natalie and Mr E!

i think that joy and laughter is a natural repel to the unseelie…dont be scared can help too.. they like tricking scaredy-cats and weak people…and mediums /psychics can handle that.

I thought the unseelie sounded like they were…. laughing. Wicked laughter. I hope that if the time comes I wold have protection from such unwanted creachers. Also I think I heard this sound only it was smaller when I was nearly taken by the unseelie. It was not a good feeling. I hope in real life I'll never hear that sound.

Yes, that's probably right. Mostly I just want to point out that killing is as aggressive as you can get, and should only be a defence of the last resort. It's possible I'm wrong about these guys, but in general I think there must be other ways to defend yourself that are less aggressive and less likely to cause further problems.

Yes, I'm fairly sure kalvin is mostly concerned about self defense
As to whether or not these unseelie can be handled another way, I really don't know, but I agree that those methods should always be tried first.

-shivers- That was quite awful! D=
I thought it was more like mourning than laughing however…<.<''
-shudders-

That's true– I also got the same impression as Navy and feel she hit the “nail on the head” Kalvin just wants to know how can a human defend against them if under physical attack by them in the woods.
One way I personaly use would be to call on God for intervention (but that's just me ). I've had situations where I've done that- even in sleep paralysis with a negative invisible Being in my room, and the paralysis stopped–

I hope I never encounter the Unseelie…D=
Maybe I should call on the light side when I am experiencing sleep paralysis…I just let fear get a hold of me and fight…I guess like a trapped animal. ^^''

Even though I call on the side of Light to help– doesnt mean I still don't fight it as well. You have to fight as well!
Just don't let yourself feel fear, as that is what they are looking for.

For those who are worried about their safety, please don't be too concerned – this is a very rare occurence. While these unseelie seemed to have found a portal or tear in the veil, Mr E wasn't even sure that they were completely on this side of the veil.
My intention in writing this post was not to scare everyone but I did want you to be able to hear the unseelie so you could get a true sense of what and who they are. I think that part was fairly successful.
As far as defending against them goes, I would recommend using Lisa and Dante's suggestions which are excellent and also try to remember we are more powerful than they are in this world unless we give them the power through fear.

Yes, slightly spooked but not scared would describe my first reaction too. Don't know your dad so I can't make a comparison, thankfully!
