Usually when a grimiore is first started it's difficult to get the spirit to appear. In this case the cat let me know of Icosiels presence as he started to manifest. On the address I was not able to see hte spirit looking direct on but was able to see the serpent part of it's body through my peripheral vision. The appearance was much smaller than I expected, since the descriptions in the Theurgia sound rather dragonish.
The appearance of the spirit fit the serpentine description of Theurgia. It does not appear to be the same as a Sidhe but may be from their realm. This does appear to be a way to work directly with the spirit through the viel. The conjuring of the kelpie was not a success persay though he has continued to maintain a suprisingly helpful if quiet presence. The abilities of that spirit to disguise it's nature is very impressive. It can totally hide it's presence alltogether to the point where I have no awareness. ( it was present and making direct approaches before the conjuration attempt) Hopefully this months will go better at least the weather will cooperate more though I suspect the black flies will have an influence on my abilities to do outdoor workings in the woods. I suspect the kelpie like the airish spirits of the Theurgia may be more of a mixed nature as opposed to totally demonic. The things he has done for me may merely be an attempt to get me to work outside the safety measures given in the grimoire, something which will not happen. I did however reward the being for what he had done since his work was excellent and needed.
There is significant support in folklore that Kelpies while dangerous and capricious are of a mixed nature as opposed to totally demonic. I suspect they guard the otherworld entrances. There are instances where they have not merely appeared to feed on humans. Like any predator great caution and respect for it's abilities must be observed. I have no wish to be drowned and eaten.
So far I've not seen much in the way of results from the work with Icosiel. The spirit itself had a pleasant demenor and presence, though the constraint in the grimoire would probably cause it to appear that way anyway. I will continue the work and post results of interest. It appeared to allow access to his dukes and the real work will probably be with them.
One thing that I did find out was that the grimoire was divided intentionally into three parts possibly to prevent abuse or discovery I've managed to piece the thing together and it is as complete a work as the Key of solomon or the Goetia.
My heartfelt thanks and appreciation go to Njord and Odin for their love, support and instruction during this time.
