Since we’ve gotten a lot a questions about making amulets, we decided that maybe a post on the subject would be in order.
Making an amulet can be as simple or as complicated a process as you want it to be so I have included a few options for you to consider.
Since we have already discussed what amulets are here, I won’t go over it again. Instead, we can move right along to making different types of amulets.
HERBAL AMULETS–An herbal amulet, as the name suggests, is an amulet which is made of, or includes herbs. A simple way to make one is by following the steps below:
1) Decide how big you want your amulet to be. Finished size of the amulet we are making here is about 1 1/2″ square so all the directions will be for this size but you can make it any size you want.
2) Transfer or paint your design on a 2″ x 4″ piece of felt or other suitable fabric. Make sure your actual symbol is on the bottom half as below: 
3) Fold fabric in half, right sides together, and sew two sides as shown. You can use a sewing machine or you can hand sew it, it really doesn’t matter. Turn the sewn amulet, right side out.
4) Decide what kind of cord you want and attach it to the amulet. Of course, there are other ways to attach the cord and you can do it however you want but here’s how we do it:
Decide how long you want your neck cord to be and then thread a large needle with the right length of fine leather cord, making a good knot at the end. Going inside the amulet, pull your needle through the top left corner and then take your needle back into the amulet from the top right side as shown. Remove the needle and tie another knot at that end. The cord is now attached at both corners from the inside.
5) Fill the amulet with the appropriate herbs. There are different herbal formulas for different amulets so you need to find out what they are before you fill it up.
6) Sew up the remaining side by hand and your amulet is finished!
OTHER TYPES OF AMULETS–
For those who hate to sew, there are other options! You can put a magical symbol on a variety of objects so just use your imagination. Below we have a some of the easier methods available to you.
1) Silver frame method–
This involves painting or printing the amulet symbol on a piece of paper and then gluing it to a piece of cardboard or wood in this case. Apply a sealant such as varnish to the symbol, apply glue to the back and insert it into the silver frame (available at a craft store or online). Simple!

2) Wooden Amulet–
Another simple method, this just requires that you print out the design and glue it to a wood piece or paint it on directly. Again, varnish the symbol, attach a bail (available at craft stores or online) or drill a hole and you are done.

3) Glass Pendant
This method is a bit more difficult since you need the right materials which can be difficult to find…
Basically, all you need to do is print out or paint your symbol, glue it to the bottom of the glass piece, attach a silver bail and coat the backing.

Sure, it ‘s ok not to varnish it – it will just last longer that way. You can use two symbols on an amulet as long as it is the same symbol.

These people on otherkin think that you’re “fluff”. I don’t think you’re fluff. Is it just because of competition? I mean, you’re website being just as good as theirs. People commented saying things like “the elves of fyn are too perfect” or “if we were to respect everything in nature we would respect things such as pollution because…” and so on. They wrote a whole article about it. Maybe you should check it out. :-/
Love this tutorial! Very simple and straightforward. I will definitely try to make a pendant. Another good idea would be a polymer clay pendant.

Oh yes, I do know about my “friends” at otherkin. I am aware of their opinion but obviously, I don’t share it!
They seem very unseelie (mean and angry) to me so I don’t really want to give them too much of my time or energy.

Yes, a polymer pendant would work too. I think I might add some herbs to the clay to offset the “polymer” a just a bit, that could work well.

& she appeared in her full form jst like a little girl, a few inches or centimtrs in diameter I guesss, she was zippin past me fast bt still I got a glimpse of her, I did request d FAE to bless me wid their presence in my dreams & they did, a lil late but dey did,I m sooooooo happy

I also was wndrin if dey’ll gift wid sum SUNFLOWER flowers in our garden (which isn’t built yet) & dey did & I saw 2 beautiful yellow flowers in our front yard, I thanked them 4 such a beautiful gift, bt den I saw a DEAD BIRD jst 2 feet near it & it made me very SAD so I dug deep in d ground & BURIED this BEAUTIFUL BIRD

Navneeta, congratulations– You’re prayers were answered! When I prayed to meet a faery- it was not on my timing, but on our Creator’s timing– when I least expected it . Sounds like that was how it was for you too!
Your dream inspired me to pray that some Fae’s or Pixies, gnomes, etc, could visit me in my dreams too.
About that dream of that gnome held in captivity by humans. That may very well be what is happening in reality-
There is alot we don’t know about what goes on behind the scenes with our World governments. It has been said that there are underground military headquarters and prisons too.
I am thinking this dream may have been a plea for help by the Faery Realm to you- to pray for this gnome. I am going to pray for him too.
I have read about an account on some paranormal website of someone who witnessed officials carting off a very small man who looked like a gnome– Who knows, maybe it is this same Gnome for all we know.
Maybe you had that dream for a reason– pray for him!

I just got the little elves shoes their very adorable. I don’t know if its fairies or not but I’ve been seeing fairies or not but Ive been seeings lot of little colored orbes in my room s lot especially after I just awoke from my sleep. Any then I saw this strange white thing flew past me after trying to see fairies, just happened right now, I got talk to my spiritually awaken friends about this. I cant wait for new stuff to come out I love amulets those elven symbols give off amazing vibes .

About including our information in your book….I’m sorry, the elves are very particular about this type of thing and they really don’t want the symbols used in that way. Susan and I may put all the information we have gathered into a book some day but they will be closely involved in that process.

Well, you certainly are having some interesting experiences! The thing is, I really can’t interpret them for you – they are trying to tell you something and you are the one who is supposed to figure it all out. Great, eh?
So, how do you do this? Well after you have the experience and you have a few moments, ask them something like “hey, I see that you are trying to connect with me but I’m confused… what did ____ and ____ mean exactly? Can you tell me in my next dream or just talking to me in my head would be ok too. I would really appreciate that.” Believe it or not, this does work because they see that you are trying to understand what is going on and they will usually respond.
I don’t know about whether someone on another site has fae friends that know you – could be I suppose… but what they said about having a stronger connection through working at it is definitely true, according to my experience.
Hmmm, there could be something going on in the fae realm–it does feel a bit weird right now but I think it should be back in balance soon, hopefully.

Yeah i read somewhere, that opening your third eye can open u to good stuff as well as bad stuff…i tried to open it but i guess i didnt concentrate enuff, or may be i did it wrong,(i concentrated hard on the point between my eyes, i started feeling dizzy and thats’ it) coz really nuthin happened, i did not have any dreams or even any experience that can be regarded as something different! i need to know, will the printout of the amulet be helpful, rather than building it?Thanks.
well,sometimes its hard to know if your third eye is open…like mine.a week ago i thought it was open but the truth is,everyones third eeye is open but you dont know it…mine is open slightly or maybe your is wide open …did you ever wonder where your intuition comes form?..its comes from your third eye…
here are some of the tips i read:
1.first,more you read of the supernatural more your eye is ready to see them,so bad stuff wont happen as much.
2.second,sugar blocks the third eye.
3.meditation help soothe your mind so if your stressed it wont help.
4.take a shower and imaging the water magical…and pre it on your forehead.

Tonight it is a full moon and I feel very strange. When I was looking in the cupboard I felt…. I guess the word would be a prescence. At first I thought my dad was there but when I looked- no one. Well, I guess that would be as far as I know. Me and my friend are deciding to call the fairy that lives here cancer, the name I heard in my dream. I’m hoping they’ll visit me in my dreams tonight since it’s a full moon. Natalie, has a fairy ever tried to catch your attention by taking your fork at dinner? It was very odd when it happened to me.
im not natalie but..no but they had took one of my htings that i borrowed from my grandma
and one day i ask them to give me it back and i was about to go to my grandmas and i found it in my suitecase …i guess they were helping me pack!!!

Hey Natalie and Lisa I’ve very excitin incidence to share with you guys i.e. last night was a very stormy and windy night so I invited all d GUD FAE’s to come inside my home and be warm & today can u guys believe that they actually came bcz 1 or 2 months back I bought a 4 clover leaf necklace & I kept it in a small & very cute twig basket alongwith copper pennies, artificial flowers, sum sea shells & laid out all of these for them 2 play with, and guess wat d 4 clover leaf necklace was out of the basket lying alongside my fairy statues and the copper pennies & sea shells were kept well organized, I still can’t believe dat they accepted my invitation guys I soooooooooooo HAPPY
